ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 29th day of June 1955
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
1.(1) This order may be cited as the Cromwell Rabbit District Order 1955.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
- The boundaries of the Cromwell Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the Ist day of November 1949,* are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the commencement of this order the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE CROMWELL RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Otago Land District and the counties of Vincent and Lake containing 110,000 acres, more or less, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-western corner of Section 37, Block VII, Tarras Survey District; thence to and generally southerly along the centre of the main stream of the Clutha River to the confluence of the Clutha and the Kawarau Rivers; thence generally north-westerly and south-westerly and north-westerly along the centre of the Kawarau River to a point in line with the western boundary of Run 633, Cromwell Survey District; thence to and generally northerly and easterly along the western and northern boundaries of Run 633 to its junction with the Roaring Meg; thence easterly and northerly along the northern boundary of Run 634 and the north-western boundaries of Runs 630, 628, and 626 in the Cromwell, Cardrona, and Tarras Survey Districts to the south-western corner of Section 33, Block VII, Tarras Survey District; thence easterly and north-easterly along the southern and eastern boundaries of the said Section 33 to the Queenstown-Wanaka State Highway; thence across that Highway and westerly and northerly along the southern and western boundaries of Section 37, Block VII, Tarras Survey District, to the point of commencement.

Constituting the Bannockburn Rabbit District (Notice No. Ag. 5911)

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 and to section 29 of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby constitutes and declares the area of land the boundaries of which are described in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection (1) of section 30 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 applies, a rabbit district, and appoints that the name of the said rabbit district shall be the Bannockburn Rabbit District, and orders that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE BANNOCKBURN RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Otago Land District and the county of Vincent containing 117,000 acres, more or less, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the confluence of the Kawarau and Clutha Rivers, thence south-easterly down the centre of the Clutha River to a point due east of the north-eastern corner of Section 4, Block XVI, Leaning Rock Survey District; thence westerly to and along the northern boundary of the
said Section 4, south-westerly along the southern boundary of Run 325D, Leaning Rock and Bannockburn Survey Districts, to eastern boundary of Run 339D; thence generally southerly along that boundary down the Hawksburn and south-westerly up the Earnscleugh River to its junction with the southern boundary of Run 339G; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Runs 339G, 339F, and 339E, Obelisk, Lornside, and Lorn Survey Districts, to the Nevis River; thence generally northerly down the centre of the Nevis River to its junction with the Kawarau River; thence generally north-easterly, south-easterly, and north-easterly along the centre of the Kawarau River to the point of commencement.

Amending the Constitution of the Puhipuhi Rural Fire District

Pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby make the following Order:
The Order in Council dated the 17th day of November 1948 and published in Gazette, 25 November 1948, Vol. III, page 1422, is hereby amended by omitting the Schedule to that Order in Council and substituting the Schedule set out in the Schedule to this Order in Council.

'NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT-AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY
'Puhipuhi Rural Fire District
"ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Whangarei County, containing approximately 10,300 acres, situated in Blocks III, IV, VII, VIII, XI, and XII, Hukerenui Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the east by the Taparaahaia and Kaimamaku Streams; towards the south generally by Puhipuhi 5c 4, 5c 3, and 5c 2 Blocks; towards the west generally by the Waiaraki River and the western sides of Gibbs' Road and the Puhipuhi Mine Road; towards the south by Section 13, Block III aforesaid; again towards the west generally by Sections 9, 10, and 4, Block III aforesaid; and towards the north by State forest land (Gazette, 1921, page 1636, and Gazette, 1944, page 607). As the same is shown on plan No. 9/32 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.'

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the assignment to James Stuart Dick, of Omarama, Sheepfarmer, by Robert Kay Ireland, of Oamaru, Company Manager, of his rights, powers, and privileges under an Order in Council dated the 10th day of September 1952 and published in the Gazette on the 11th day of the same month at page 1475, authorizing him to use water for the purpose of generating electricity and to erect and use certain electric lines, and further, hereby amends the said Order in Council as set forth in the Schedule hereto.
