Revoking the Reservation Over a Reserve in Taranaki Land District

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the reservation for a reserve for a resting place for travelling stock over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Varying a Notice Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby varies a notice dated 10 July 1947 and published in New Zealand Gazette on 17 July 1947, at page 887, declaring parts of the Ruakawa Tribal District to be tribal committee areas by deleting from the Schedule thereto the descriptions of the Tukorehe and Otaki tribal committee areas, and substituting therefor the descriptions appearing in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

TUKOREHE TRIBAL COMMITTEE AREA

ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the south-western boundary of Subdivision 3a, Muhunoa Block, with the sea coast; thence proceeding south-easterly generally along the south-western boundaries of the said Subdivision 3a and Subdivision 4, Muhunoa Block, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Ohau River; thence up the middle of that river to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Subdivision 40 on Deposited Plan No. 439, Block V, Waiopelu Survey District; thence south-easterly to and along the last-mentioned boundary and along the north-eastern boundaries of Subdivisions 42, 44, 46, 48, and 49 on Deposited Plan No. 439, crossing a public road, Subdivision 52A on Deposited Plan No. 440, Subdivision 53 on Deposited Plan No. 442, to the easternmost corner of the said Subdivision 53 and along a right line to Pukemoremore Trig. Station on the eastern boundary of Block XII, Waiopelu Survey District; thence southerly along the summit of the Tararua Range to a point on the production of the north-eastern boundary of Manawatu-Kukutauaki No. 4 Block; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary to the sea coast; thence northerly along the sea coast to the point of commencement.

NGATI WEHIWEHI TRIBAL COMMITTEE AREA

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the north-eastern boundary of Manawatu-Kukutauaki No. 4 Block with the sea coast; thence proceeding south-easterly along the said boundary and its production to the summit of the Tararua Range; thence south-westerly generally along the summit of that range to Mount Crawford Trig. Station; thence north-westerly along a straight line to the junction of the northern boundary of Section 67A in Block X, Waitohu Survey District, with the north-eastern side of South Manakau Road; thence north-westerly generally along the north-eastern side of South Manakau Road to its junction with the south-eastern side of the Paekakariki-Levin State Highway; thence along a straight line across the said State Highway to the southernmost corner of Section 19A in Block VII, Waitohu Survey District; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of the said Section 19A, Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 2923 and Lots 2 and 1 on Deposited Plan No. 2789, to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned Lot; thence along a straight line to the easternmost corner of Huritini No. 2 Block and along the north-eastern boundaries of Huritini Nos. 2, 2a 1, and 8 Blocks, crossing a public road, to the sea coast; thence northerly along the sea coast to the point of commencement.

OTAKI TRIBAL COMMITTEE AREA

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the north-eastern boundary of Huritini No. 8 Block with the sea-coast; thence proceeding south-easterly along the said boundary, crossing a public road, the north-eastern boundaries of Huritini Nos. 1, 2a, and 2 Blocks to the easternmost corner of the last mentioned block, a right line to the south-western corner of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 2789, along the south-western boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, Deposited Plan No. 2789, Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 2823, and Section 19A in Block VII, Waitohu Survey District, to the north-western side of the Paekakariki-Levin State Highway, along a straight line across the said highway to and along the north-eastern side of South Manakau Road to its junction with the northern boundary of Section 67A in Block X, Waitohu Survey District; thence south-easterly along a straight line to Mount Crawford Trig. Station in Block II, Taumata Survey District; thence southerly along the summit of the Tararua Range to a point on the production of a straight line between Trig. Station Parahamuti in Block II, Kaitawa Survey District, and Trig. Station Bridge in Block VIII, Kaitawa Survey District; thence north-westerly to and along the said straight line to Trig. Station Parahamuti aforesaid; thence due west to the sea coast; thence north-easterly along the sea coast to the point of commencement.
