Pursuant to section 149 of the Public Works Act 1928,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents
to the Matamata County Council stopping the portions
of road described in the Schedule hereto.

WHEREAS allegations have been made that certain condi-
tions causing damage to property and ill-health
exist from time to time in the atmosphere of the Boroughs of
Otahuhu, Onehunga, One Tree Hill, and Mount Wellington,
and the Mangere Riding of Manukau County, and whereas it
is alleged that existing legal remedies are or may be inade-
quate or ineffective and whereas it is desirable that inquiries
should be made as to whether such conditions exist and if so
into the nature of the remedies which may be required for
their elimination or alleviation:
