The Takapuna Grammar School Board of Governors Order 1955

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 2nd day of May 1955

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Education Act 1914, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Takapuna Grammar School Board of Governors Order 1955.

  2. The constitution of the Board of Governors for Takapuna Grammar School, prescribed by section 90 of the Education Act 1914, is hereby varied so that the school shall be controlled by a Board of Governors constituted as follows:

(a) One member appointed by the Auckland Education Board:

(b) Four members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school:

(c) One member appointed by the Governor-General:

(d) One member appointed by the Devonport and Takapuna Borough Councils:

(e) One member appointed by the Old Pupils’ Association of the School:

(f) One member appointed by the Auckland University College Council.

Altering Representation of Certain Districts on the Auckland Harbour Board, and Appointing a Principal Authority

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 2nd day of May 1955

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the First Schedule to the Harbours Act 1950 (hereinafter called the said Act) provides, inter alia, that one member of the Auckland Harbour Board shall be elected by the electors of the combined district of the Boroughs of Devonport, Birkenhead, Takapuna, and Northcote, and the Devonport Borough Council was selected and appointed to be the principal authority for the purpose of the elections by the electors of the said combined district:

And whereas a new borough, the Borough of East Coast Bays, has been constituted within the County of Waitemata, and it is expedient to alter the said combined district to include the electors of the Borough of East Coast Bays and to make provision for the representation on the said Board of the said combined district as altered:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General, pursuant to section 30 of the said Act and to all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that one member of the Auckland Harbour Board shall be elected by the electors of the Boroughs of Devonport, Birkenhead, Takapuna, Northcote, and East Coast Bays, in lieu of the election of one member by the electors of the Boroughs of Devonport, Birkenhead, Takapuna, and Northcote, and hereby selects and appoints the Devonport Borough Council to be the principal authority for the purpose of such elections by the electors of the said combined district as altered.

The Puketitiri Cemetery Order 1955

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Cemeteries Act 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Puketitiri Cemetery Order 1955.

  2. (1) The delegation to the Hawke’s Bay County Council of the powers of appointing and removing trustees of the cemetery known as the Puketitiri Cemetery, being the area described in the Schedule hereto, made by Order in Council dated the 18th day of September 1933,* is hereby revoked.

(2) The said Order in Council is hereby accordingly amended by omitting from the second column of the Schedule the word “Puketitiri” where it occurs opposite the reference to the Hawke’s Bay County Council in the first column of that Schedule.

PUKETITIRI CEMETERY

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District containing 9 acre 1 rood 25 perches, more or less, being Section 39, Block XIV, Pohue Survey District.

Consenting to Stopping Road in Block V, Mahanga Survey District, Wairoa County

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 10th day of May 1955

THE RIGHT HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 149 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the Wairoa County Council stopping the road described in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of road permitted to be stopped:

A. R. P. Adjoining or passing through
0 2 16·7 Section 1; coloured green.
0 0 17·5 Section 1; coloured green.

Situated in Block V, Mahanga Survey District, Hawke’s Bay R.D. (S.O. 2677.)

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 146412 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.

THE RIGHT HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 149 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the Wairoa County Council stopping the road described in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road permitted to be stopped: 2 roods 7·31 perches.

Adjoining or passing through Lot 1, S.O. 797, being part Paeroa 1E 2 Block.

Situated in Block XVII, Opoiti Survey District, Hawke’s Bay R.D. (S.O. 2721.)

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 146410 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
