All that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Ongarue River in line with the northern boundary of Section 4B, Block II, Rangi Survey District; thence down the middle of the said river to a point in the middle of the Ongarue River in line with the production of the southern boundary of Ohura South N 2c 1 Block, Block II, Piopiotea West Survey District; thence westerly along the said southern boundary of Ohura South N 2c 1 Block to and across the Te Kuiti–Bulls State Highway; thence generally southerly along the western side of the said State Highway to its intersection with the south-eastern boundary of Ohura South N 2s 3g 3, Section 11 B 2 Block; thence southerly by a right line to the western corner of Ohura South N 2s 3g 2D Block; thence generally southerly along the western boundary of Ohura South N 2s 3g Block to and across the Kururau-Taumarunui Main Highway to the north-western boundary of Ohura South N 2s 1c Block; thence westerly along the said boundary to and across a public road to the northern-most corner of Ohura South N 2s 3g 2F Block; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of the aforesementioned Block, and south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Ohura South N 2s 1c Block and its production to a point in the middle of the Wanganui River; thence down the middle of the Wanganui River to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Subdivision 3 of Koiro Block; thence to and along that boundary and the south-western boundaries of Subdivisions 4 and 5, Koiro Block, to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned subdivision; thence northerly along the western boundary of the said Subdivision 5 to its north-western corner; thence generally easterly and northerly along the northern boundaries of said Subdivision 5 and Subdivision 4 to the western boundary of Section 1, Block III, Heao Survey District; thence along the western boundary of said Section 1, to a point in line with the southern boundary of Part K No. 1, Section 2c No. 4, Ohura South Block; thence to and along that boundary and northerly along the western boundary of the said block and its production to the middle of the Ohura River to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 7, Block XI, Ohura Survey District; thence to and along that boundary and the western and northern boundaries generally of Sections 7, 13, and 8 to Mona Trig. Station; thence northerly and easterly along the western and northern boundaries of Section 9, Block XI, Ohura Survey District, to the western boundary of Lot 3 of Section 10, Block XI, Ohura Survey District (D.P. 4065); thence generally north-easterly along the north-western boundary of the said Lot 3 to the western boundary of Section I, Block XII, Ohura Survey District; thence north-westerly to the westernmost corner of said Section 1; thence north-easterly and northerly along the south-eastern and eastern boundaries of Section 3 and 1, Block VIII, Ohura Survey District, to the Ararimu Road; thence northerly across that road and westerly along its northern side to the western boundary of Section 12, Block VIII, Ohura Survey District; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Section 12, Block VIII and 8, Block IV, Ohura Survey District, to Puketawai Trig. Station; thence easterly along the northern boundaries generally of Section 8 aforesaid, Sections 14 and 13, Block VIII, Ohura Survey District, Sections 8, 7, and 6, Block III, Rangi Survey District, to the western boundary of Section 4A, Block II, Rangi Survey District; thence by a right line to the north-west corner of Section 4B, Block II aforesaid; thence along the northern boundary of Section 4B and its production to the middle of the Ongarue River, the place of commencement.

Kirikau Riding

All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Wanganui River in line with the western boundary of Section 4 (Scenic Reserve), Block III, Hunua Survey District, and proceeding southerly to and along that boundary; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of Sections 4 and 2, Block III, Hunua Survey District, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line to the easternmost corner of Section 9, Block III, Hunua Survey District; thence along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 2 and 6, Block VII, and Sections 1 and 2, Block VIII, Hunua Survey District, to the northern side of Pukotea-Kokokanui Road; thence along that side and the northern boundary of Section 8, Block VIII, Hunua Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of Section 8, aforesaid, thence southerly and westerly generally along the south-eastern and southern boundaries of the said Section 8 to the southern side of Pukotea–Kokokanui Road; thence south-westerly generally along that side to the western boundary of Section 1, Block II, Kaitieke Survey District; thence along the western boundary of that Section and the northern boundaries of Sections 6 and 1, Block I, Kaitieke Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of Section 2, Block VIII, Retaruke Survey District; thence generally in a south-westerly direction along the north-western boundary of said Section 2 to the northern side of the Kokakoriki Road; thence by a right line on a bearing of 217° 54' to the middle of the Kokakoriki Road; thence in a southerly direction along the middle of that road and the Te Rata Road to a point due east of the northernmost corner of Section 1, Block XI, Retaruke Survey District; thence westerly to that corner, and along the north-western boundary of said Section 1 to the easternmost corner of Section 4, Block VII, Retaruke Survey District; thence along the southern boundary of Section 4, aforesaid, to the middle of Waipakihi Stream; thence down the middle of that stream to the Wanganui River; thence up the middle of the Wanganui River to the point of commencement.

Tuhua Riding

All that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Ongarue River in line with the southern boundary of Section 2A, of Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District, and running generally easterly and then southerly along the boundary of the Taringamotu Riding as hereinbefore described to the boundary of the Borough of Taumarunui; thence generally westerly along the boundary of that Borough, as described in New Zealand Gazette, No. 79, of the 25th day of August 1910, page 3231, to the middle of the Ongarue River; thence northerly generally up the middle of that river to the point of commencement.

Also all that area in the Taranaki Land District, situated in the County of Taumarunui, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Ongarue River in line with the production of the southern boundary of Ohura South N 2c 1 Block, Block 11, Piopiotea West Survey District; thence westerly along the said southern boundary of Ohura South N 2c 1 Block to and across the Te Kuiti–Bulls State Highway; thence generally southerly along the western side of the said State Highway to its intersection with the south-eastern boundary of Ohura South N 2s 3g 3, Section 11, B 2 Block; thence southerly by a right line to the western corner of Ohura South N 2s 3g 2D Block; thence generally southerly along the western boundary of Ohura South N 2s 3g Block to and across the Kururau-Taumarunui Main Highway to the north-western boundary of Ohura South N 2s 1c Block; thence westerly along the said boundary to and across a public road to the northernmost corner of Ohura South N 2s 3g 2F Block; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of the aforesementioned Block, and south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Ohura South N 2s 1c Block and its production to a point in the middle of the Wanganui River, and thence generally northerly up the middle of the Wanganui and Ongarue Rivers to the point of commencement.

(1) The resolution by way of Special Order was passed by the Taumarunui County Council at a special meeting called for the purpose held at the County Office, Marae Street, Taumarunui, on Wednesday, the 20th day of October 1954.

(2) The time and place of the subsequent meeting at which the Special Order would be confirmed was advertised in the Taumarunui Press on the 2nd and 16th days of November 1954.

(3) The resolution was confirmed at the ordinary meeting of the Council held on Wednesday, the 24th day of November 1954.

I hereby certify that the said Special Order was duly made in accordance with section 100 of the Counties Act 1920.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan

PURSUANT to the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the following notice received by the Minister of Finance from the Mayor of the Borough of Hawera is hereby published. Dated at Wellington this 31st day of March 1955.

HAWERA BOROUGH COUNCIL

Declaration of Result of Poll—The Nolantown Improvements Loan 1954, £35,000

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Hawera taken on the 26th day of March 1955, on a proposal to borrow the sum of £35,000 for the purpose of improving the existing streets in Nolantown, and providing footpaths with kerbs and channels:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 346.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 47.
Informal votes 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Dated at Hawera this 28th day of March 1955.
