Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 12th day of April 1955.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land declared Crown land: 3 roods 7·29 perches.
Being part Lot 3, D.P. 2507, being part Section 43, Hutt District.
Situated in Block X, Belmont Survey District, City of Lower Hutt. (S.O. 23269.)
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 146128 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Amendment to Open Season for Game in the Hawke’s Bay Declarimisation District

PURSUANT to the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby amends the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of 28 February 1955, No. 14, page 309, as follows:
By deleting from that part of the First Schedule which relates to the Hawke’s Bay Declarimisation District the words “7 May to 22 May incl.” where they appear under the heading “Duration of 1955 Season”, and substituting therefor the words “7 May to 29 May incl.”

Special Order Made by the Taumarunui County Council Altering Riding Boundaries
———
PURSUANT to section 100 of the Counties Act 1920, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act 1921–22, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following Special Order made by the Taumarunui County Council, and fixes the 1st day of April 1955 as the date on which the said Special Order shall take effect.

SPECIAL ORDER
IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act 1920, the Taumarunui County Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order as follows:
“(1) The Taumarunui County shall be divided into six Ridings to be called Waimiha, Taringamotu, Pungapunga, Otunui, Kirikau, and Tuhua Ridings, which said Ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.
“(2) The said Taumarunui County Council shall consist of eight members who shall be elected as follows:
“(a) The electors of the Taringamotu and Otunui Ridings shall each elect two councillors;
“(b) The electors of the Waimiha, Pungapunga, Kirikau, and Tuhua Ridings shall each elect one councillor.”
SCHEDULE
Waimiha Riding
ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Ongarue River on the Taumarunui County boundary in line with the eastern boundary of Section 4, Block X, Hurakia Survey District, and running southerly generally along a right line to and along the eastern boundaries of Section 4 aforesaid and Section 5 of the said Block X, to and along the northern and eastern boundaries of Kete maringi Number 2 Block, along the eastern boundary of Hurakia B No. 2 Block to its south-eastern corner; thence westerly generally along the southern and western boundaries of Hurakia B No. 2 Block aforesaid, to and along the south-western boundaries of Sections 2 and 1, Block XIV, Hurakia Survey District, along the south-eastern boundary of Section 4 to the north-eastern corner of Section 14, Block XIII, Hurakia Survey District; thence southerly generally along the eastern boundaries of Section 14 aforesaid and Section 5 of the said Block XIII, along the abutment of a public road to and along the eastern boundaries of Sections 2 and 7, to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section, both the aforesaid sections being of Block I, Puke-tapu Survey District; thence westerly generally along the southern boundary of Section 7 aforesaid, Sections 6, 5, and 3, of Block I aforesaid, along the southern boundaries of Sections 8, 11, and 10, of Block IV, Tuhua Survey District, along the south-western and western boundaries of Section 9 of the said Block IV, and along a right line being the last-mentioned boundary produced across a public road to its north-eastern side; thence along the north-eastern side of the said road to a point in line with the eastern end of the south-western boundary of Section 3, Block IV aforesaid; thence along a right line across aforesaid public road to and along the south-western boundary of the aforesaid Section 3, along the south-western boundaries of Lots 6 and 3 as shown on the plan numbered 14777, deposited in the Auckland Land Registry Office, being part of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 80s 1c 2 Block, along the abutment of a public road to and along the southern boundary of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 76a 5 Block, along the southern boundary generally of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 76s 8s 2r Block, and along a right line being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the Ongarue River being the western boundary of the aforesaid Taumarunui County; thence northerly and easterly generally along the aforesaid county boundary as described in New Zealand Gazette, No. 20, of the 20th day of March 1930, page 784, to the point of commencement.
Taringamotu Riding
All that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Ongarue River on the Taumarunui County boundary in line with the eastern boundary of Section 4, Block X, Hurakia Survey District, and running easterly and southerly generally along the boundary of the said Taumarunui County as described in New Zealand Gazette, No. 20, of the 20th day of March 1930, page 784, to the middle of the Orupuraho Stream; thence westerly generally up the middle of the said stream to and along the north-western boundaries of Hauhungaroa Nos. 2, 5, and 4 Blocks, again along the north-western boundary of Hauhungaroa No. 2 Block, and the north-western and western boundaries of Hauhungaroa No. 9, along the western boundaries of Hauhungaroa Nos. 10 and 11 Blocks, along the northern boundary of Hauhungaroa No. 1c Block, to and along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Waituhi Kuratau No. 2A Block, and along a right line being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the Pungapunga Stream; thence down the middle of the Pungapunga Stream aforesaid to a point in line with the easternmost part of the north-eastern boundary of Part Puketapu No. 3c 5 Block; thence along a right line to and along the generally north-eastern and northern boundaries of the southern part of the said Block to Peg XX on the eastern boundary of Puketapu No. 3c 6 Block; thence along a right line across the said Puketapu No. 3c 6 Block to the north-eastern corner of Puketapu No. 3c 7 Block; thence along the north-western boundary of Puketapu No. 3c 7 Block aforesaid, along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Part of Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 1 Block, and along the southern boundaries of Rangitoto-Tuhua Nos. 2a 2, 2a 1, again 2a 2, 2b 1, 2c, and 2n 1c Blocks to and along the northern boundary of Ohura South No. M 3a 1 Block, to and along the northern boundaries of Ohura South Nos. M 3a 2a 1, M 3a 2b, M 3a 2c 1, and M 3c 2 Blocks, along the eastern and southern boundaries of Section 6, Block XIV, Tuhua Survey District, along the south-eastern boundaries of Parts of Section 3, Section 10, and again Part Section 3, all of the said Block XIV, to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 4, Block XIV aforesaid; thence along a right line across a public road to and along the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 4, and along the generally northern boundary of the Borough of Taumarunui as described in New Zealand Gazette, No. 79, of the 25th day of August 1910, page 3231, to the southernmost corner of Section 25, Block XIV, Tuhua Survey District; thence along the south-western and north-western boundaries of the said Section 25 and the north-western boundaries of Sections 24, 5d, and 56, to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 18; thence along a right line across a public road, to and along that south-western boundary, along the southern and western boundaries of Section 59, and the south-eastern, southern, and western boundaries of Section 14, to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 15; thence along a right line across a public road to and along the south-western boundary of the said Section 15 to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 2a, the aforesaid sections all being of Block XIII aforesaid; thence along a right line across a public road to and along that last-mentioned southern boundary, and a right line being the production of that boundary to the middle of the Ongarue River; thence northerly generally up the middle of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of Rangitoto Tuhua No. 7 6B 8s 2E Block, in Block XIIIA, Ongarue Survey District; thence generally easterly and then north-easterly along the boundaries of the Waimiha Riding as hereinbefore described, to the point of commencement.
Pungapunga Riding
All that area in the South Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the mouth of the Orupuraho Stream on the shores of Lake Taupo in Block V, Karangahape Survey District, and running southerly and westerly generally along the boundary of the Taumarunui County as described in New Zealand Gazette, No. 20, of the 20th day of March 1930, page 784, to the boundary of the Taumarunui Borough; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of the Taumarunui Borough as described in New Zealand Gazette, No. 79, of the 25th day of August 1910, page 3231, and north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of the Taringamotu Riding as hereinbefore described, to the point of commencement.
