WAITEMATA ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Waitemata Electric Power Board Reticalation Extension and Reinforcement Loan (1954), £155,000

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and amendments and regulations made thereunder, and all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Board hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing half-yearly instalments of principal and interest and other charges on a loan of £155,000, authorized to be raised by the Waitemata Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Acts in order to provide additional moneys for the purpose of the further reticulation of electric power within the whole of the Waitemata Electric Power District, the Waitemata Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 6/100ths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the capital value) of all rateable property within the whole of the Waitemata Electric Power District as defined in the Proclamation proclaiming the said District appearing in the New Zealand Gazette dated the 18th day of October 1923, and altered by Proclamations appearing in the New Zealand Gazettes dated the 27th day of November 1924, the 26th day of August 1926, the 7th day of March 1929, the 24th day of January 1935, and the 14th day of April 1954; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

I hereby certify that the above resolution was carried at a meeting of the Waitemata Electric Power Board held on the 20th day of December 1954.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of members held at Rangiora on 7 January 1955 the following special resolution was passed:

"Resolved as a special resolution passed pursuant to the provisions of the Companies Act 1933, by means of an entry in the minute book of the company, that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Gilbert Edward Koller, of Rangiora, Public Accountant, be and is hereby appointed liquidator for the purposes of such winding up."

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of section 232 of the Companies Act 1933 that a general meeting of the members of the company will be held in the offices of Hume and Wyatt, Public Accountants, Te Aroha, on Wednesday, 2 February 1955, at 10 a.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before the meeting showing how the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanations thereof which may be given by the liquidator.

BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Counties Act 1920 and the Public Works Act 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Bay of Islands County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work, namely, the establishment of a metal quarry in the Mataraua District in the County of Bay of Islands, and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the County Clerk to the said Council, situate in Church Street, Kawakawa, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers, Church Street, Kawakawa.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of parcels of land required to be taken: 1 acre 2 roods.

Being portion of Section part Mataraua C 2 Block; coloured yellow on plan 38355.

Situated in the County of Bay of Islands.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Deputy Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 14th day of January 1955, cancelled the registry of Court Sir William Jervois, No. 7609, of the Wellington District of the Ancient Order of Foresters (Register No. 144/23), held at Wellington, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

RODNEY COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Rural Housing Loan No. 2, 1954

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and the Rural Housing Act 1938, the Rodney County Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,000, authorized to be raised by the Rodney County Council under the above-mentioned Acts, such loan to be known as the Rural Housing Loan No. 2, 1954 (£10,000), hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·157545 pence in the pound upon all the rateable value, being the unimproved value of all rateable property in the County of Rodney; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan or until the loan is fully paid off. It is not proposed to collect the special rate, but to meet the annual charges on the loan from the repayments of interest and principal made by persons to whom advances are made by the Council pursuant to the Rural Housing Act 1939."

The foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the Rodney County Council held on the 15th day of December 1954.
