Minister of Lands hereby appoints the Royal New Zealand
Society for the Health of Women and Children (Upper Hutt
Branch) Incorporated to control and manage the reserve
described in the Schedule hereto, subject to the provisions
of the said Act, as a site for a Plunket room.

Appointing a Commission to Inquire Into the Constitution of
the Heathcote Underground Water Area (Lyttelton Borough
Council)

URSUANT to section 4 of the Underground Water Act
1953, the Minister of Works hereby appoints
Frank Felix Reid, Esquire, of Wellington, Stipendiary
Magistrate,
Horace Edwin Eyfe, of Wellington, Chief Geologist,
Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, and
Harry Lancelot Hume, of Wellington, Civil Engineer,
Ministry of Works,
to be a Commission of which the said Frank Felix Reid shall
be Chairman—
(a) To inquire into the proposals of the Lyttelton Borough
Council relating to the constitution of portion of
the Heathcote County as an underground water area
and the constitution of the Lyttelton Borough Council
as the Underground Water Authority for that area;
(b) To consider all objections and appeals lodged in respect
of those proposals; and
(c) To report to me not later than the 31st day of March
1955 in accordance with subsection (6) of the said
section 4 of the Underground Water Act.

Council relating to the constitution of the Borough
of Onehunga as an underground water area, and the
constitution of the Onehunga Borough Council as the

of those proposals; and
(c) To report to me not later than the 31st day of March
1955 in accordance with subsection (6) of the said

of section 91 of the Government Railways Act 1949, the
New Zealand Railways Commission has appointed Mr Allan
Hartley, Industrial and Safety Officer, Railways Department,
Wellington, to act as a member of the Government Railways
Appeal Board from 1 January 1955 until and including
31 December 1956, in all appeals by or against members in
the New Zealand Government Railways.

Specifying Rate of Levy under the Orchard Levy Act 1953
(Notice No. Ag. 5804)

URSUANT to the Orchard Levy Act 1953, the Minister of
Agriculture hereby specifies that the rate of the levy
payable under section 3 of the said Act by every person who
on the 31st day of January in the year 1955 or in any year
thereafter is the occupier of an orchard shall be one pound
ten shillings (£1 10s.).
