Extending Time for Holding Election of Trustee for Raupo
Drainage District

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 22nd day of
December 1954
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Local Elections and Polls
Act 1953, an election of a trustee for the Raupo Drainage
District was required to be held not later than Friday, the
3rd day of December 1954:
And whereas that election has not yet been held:
And whereas it is desirable to extend the time for holding
that election:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 100 of the Local
Elections and Polls Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-
General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council, hereby declares that the time for the
holding of that election is extended to Saturday, the 5th day
of February 1955.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
Pursuant to section 44 of the Public Works Amendment
Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
hereby orders and declares that the land comprised and
described in the First Schedule of the Proclamation referred
to in the First Schedule hereto and the land comprised and
described in the Proclamations referred to in the Second
Schedule hereto shall on and after the date of this Order
in Council be a motorway.

The Northern and Eastern Sides of Portions of Devon Street,
in the City of Wellington, Exempted from the Provisions
of Section 128 of the Public Works Act 1928, Subject to
a Condition as to the Building Line

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 22nd day of
December 1954
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
Pursuant to section 128 of the Public Works Act 1928,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby
approves of the resolution passed by the Wellington City
Council on the 11th day of August 1954 and set out in the
First Schedule hereto, in so far as it affects the sides and
portions of street described in the Second Schedule hereto,
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building
shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the northern
and eastern sides of portions of Devon Street (described in
the Second Schedule hereto) within a distance of 25 ft. from
the centre line of the said portions of street.

FIRST SCHEDULE
THE Wellington City Council, being the local authority having
control of the streets in Wellington City, by resolution
declares that the provisions of section 128 of the Public
Works Act 1928 shall not apply to the northern and eastern
sides of the portion of Devon Street adjoining Lots 26 and
27, Deeds Plan 827, being all (or part) of the Land in
certificates of title, Volume 119, folio 18, and Volume 159,
folio 224, Wellington Registry.

SECOND SCHEDULE
THE northern and eastern sides of all those portions of street
situated in the Wellington Land District, City of Wellington,
known as Devon Street, fronting Lots 26 and 27, Deeds Plan
827, being part Section 1, Block XVb, Polhill Gully Maori
Reserve, Wellington Land District. As the same are more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 145258
deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington,
and thereon coloured red.

Constituting the Tokanui Rabbit District (Notice No.
Ag. 5812)

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 22nd day of
December 1954
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
Pursuant to the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 and to section
29 of the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Act 1947, His
Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of the Minister
of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit
Destruction Council, and acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council, hereby constitutes and
declares the area of land the boundaries of which are described
in the Schedule hereto, being an area to which subsection
(1) of section 30 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 applies,
a rabbit district, and appoints that the name of the said
rabbit district shall be the Tokanui Rabbit District, and
orders that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be
established for the said district shall first levy its general
rate shall be the acreage of land occupied by the ratepayer.

SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE TOKANUI RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the County of Southland, Southland Land
District, containing by estimation 130,800 acres, more or
less, inclusive of roads, railways, and streams, commencing
at a point on the right bank of the Mataura River in line
with the southern boundary of Block IV, Toetoes Survey
District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north by a
line across the Mataura River and a road reserve and Blocks
IV, V, and VI, Toetoes Survey District; towards the west
by Block VI, Toetoes Survey District; again towards the
north by Block VII, Mokoreta Survey District; again
towards the west by Blocks VII and IX, Mokoreta Survey
District; again towards the north by Blocks X, VIII, and
XI, Mokoreta Survey District; towards the east and north
again by Block XI, Rimu Survey District; again towards the
east by Blocks V and XII, Tautuku Survey District, to the
Waikawa-Papatowai Main Highway; towards the north-east
by the said highway to the Longbeach Creek; towards the
east generally by Longbeach Creek to the ocean; towards the
south and south-west generally by the ocean to the right
bank of the Mataura River at its mouth; towards the west
generally by the right bank of the Mataura River to the
point of commencement.
