POVERTY BAY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Electric Power Boards' Act 1925 and its amendments, and in the matter of the Public Works Act 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Poverty Bay Electric Power Board proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work (namely, the erection of storage and control-room buildings and of staff premises), and for the purposes of the said public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Poverty Bay Electric Power Board, Peel Street, Gisborne, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Managing-Secretary at the office of the Poverty Bay Electric Power Board, Peel Street, Gisborne.

APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE FOR A WATER RACE UNDER THE MINING ACT 1926
To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Cromwell.
PURSUANT to the Mining Act 1926, the undersigned Patrick Francis O'Neill, of Pat earoa, Farmer, hereby applies for a licence for a water race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.
Mark on pegs: V.
Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 4 October 1954, at 5 p.m.
Date and number of miner's right: 30 September 1954, No. 89788.
Address for service: Patrick Francis O'Neill, Farmer, Pat earoa.

SCHEDULE
LOCALITY of the race, and of its starting and terminal points; also description of land traversed (e.g., unalienated Crown land, private land, or otherwise): Water race commences in the Sowburn Creek at a point in Section 44, Block VII, Upper Taieri District, 35 yards north of the intersection of the main Pat earoa-Styx Road with the Sowburn Creek; thence continuing in a north-westerly direction by a pipe line (335 yards) through Crown lands held by E. L. Carr under miscellaneous licence; thence a further 250 yards by means of a water race in the same direction; thence across the Pat earoa-Styx Road into Section 39, Block VII, for a distance of 50 yards in a westerly direction and thence in a northerly direction through part Section 39 for 250 yards; thence across the Pat earoa-Puketoi Road into Section 53, Block I, Upper Taieri District, for 100 yards in a northerly direction; thence 1 mile in a westerly direction in a race parallel to the said road for a distance of 1 mile, to the point of termination.
Points of intake: 35 yards north of intersection of main Pat earoa-Styx Road with the Sowburn Creek.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Two weeks, £100. Mean depth and breadth: 1 ft. 6 in. by 2 ft. 6 in. Number of heads to be diverted: Two. Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation. Proposed term of licence: Twenty-one years.

MANGAWEKA TOWN BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Mangaweka Town Board hereby resolves as follows:
'That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorized to be raised by the Mangaweka Town Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of renewal of bridges in Bank Street, Kahu Street, and Raumaewa Street, the said Mangaweka Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2d. (two-fifths of one penny) in the pound upon the rateable capital value of all rateable property in the Mangaweka Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the 31st day of March and the 30th day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid for.'

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wairua County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work (namely, the provision of land for a public road), and for that purpose the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited at the office of the said Council, situated at Queen Street, Wairua, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections thereto must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.
