Cancelling the Vesting of Reserves in the Timaru City Council
PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Timaru of the lands described in the Schedule hereto.

Cancelling the Vesting and Revoking the Reservation Over a Reserve in Wellington Land District
PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Ekatahuna of the land described in the Schedule hereto, and, further, revokes the reservation for a gravel reserve over the said land.

Northern Pumping Area Special Subdivision—Waihi Drainage Area—Notice of Making and Levying Special Rates Under the Swamp Drainage Act 1915 and its Amendments
WHEREAS by section 4 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act 1948 it is enacted that the Minister of Lands may from time to time make and levy on the lands in a special subdivision of a drainage area an additional rate, or additional rates, for the repayment of the whole, or such part as the Minister of Finance from time to time determines of any expenditure incurred for the construction of drainage works in a special subdivision, together with interest at such rate as the Minister of Finance from time to time determines:
And whereas by Order in Council published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 25 of 3 April 1952, certain lands in the Central Subdivision of the Waihi Drainage Area were constituted a special subdivision to be known as the Northern Pumping Area Special Subdivision:
And whereas the expenditure incurred for the construction of drainage works in the Northern Pumping Area Special Subdivision, together with capitalized interest to 31 March 1954, is £2,079 9s. 11d.:
And whereas the Minister of Finance has determined that the rate of interest for the purposes of the said section 4 shall be 4 per cent:
And whereas it is expedient that special rates be made and levied sufficient to produce annual sums of £187 0s. 8d., which sums will include interest on the above-mentioned sum of £2,079 9s. 11d., or on so much as shall from time to time remain owing, and also repayment of capital sufficient to repay the capital of the said sum in a period of fifteen years:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 4 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act 1948, the Minister of Lands does hereby make and levy special rates on the unimproved value of all land within the Northern Pumping Area Special Subdivision of the Central Subdivision of the Waihi Drainage Area, as set out in the Schedule hereto.
And the Minister of Lands declares that the foregoing special rates shall be annually recurring rates, and may be levied year by year without further proceedings by the Minister until moneys in respect of which they were made are paid off. The amount of such rates will, in respect of the financial year ending on 31 March 1955, be payable on 19 November 1954, and will, in respect of every future financial year, be payable on 30 August in such year.
And it is further declared that the said special rates shall be payable to the Collector of Rates, Room 8, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland.
SCHEDULE
CLASS A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the person appointed to classify the lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act 1928, sixteen pence and seventy-eight one-hundredths of a penny (16·78d.) in the pound.

Northern Pumping Area Special Subdivision—Waihi Drainage Area—Notice of Making and Levying General Rates
PURSUANT to the Swamp Drainage Act 1915 and its amendments, the Minister of Lands does hereby make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within the Northern Pumping Area Special Subdivision of the Central Subdivision of the Waihi Drainage Area, the general rates described in the Schedule hereto, such rates being for the purpose of meeting maintenance costs for the period 1 April 1954 to 31 March 1955.
The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on 19 November 1954 to the Collector of Rates, Room 8, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland.
The rate book of the area will be open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, and a copy of same will be available for inspection at the office of the Kaituna River Board, Tauranga, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.
SCHEDULE
CLASS A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the person appointed to classify the lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act 1928, thirty-three pence and twenty one-hundredths of a penny (33·20d.) in the pound.

Approval of Testing Officer Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing officer under the said regulation for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him while he is under the age of eighteen years to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
