Notice of Intention to Take Land for Soil-conservation and River-control Purposes in Blocks VIII and IX, Waitohu Survey District
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for soil-conservation and river-control purposes; and notice is hereby further given that the plans of the land so required to be taken are deposited in the Post Office at Otaki and are there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in the Borough of Masterton for a Public School
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to execute a certain public work (to wit, the construction of a public school), and for the purposes of that public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Post Office at Masterton and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the public work or to the taking of the land, set forth the same in writing, and send the writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken:
1 rood 5 perches.
Being part Lots 8 and 9, Deeds Plan No. 2A, being part Section 43, Manaia Block.
Situated in Block IV, Tiffin Survey District.
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 144583 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured sepia, edged sepia.

Position: (a) Radio Mast, lat. 45° 53' 15" S., long. 170° 35' 40" E. (approx.).
Details: (1) The Radio Mast bearing 037° 2·3 cables from (a) is to be expunged.
(2) A small circle marked Radio Mast (Red Light), is to be inserted in a position 290·5° 3·6 cables from (a).
(3) The words (Red Light) are to be inserted after Radio Mast in position (a) above.

Notice to Mariners No. 79 of 1954
NEW ZEALAND-SOUTH ISLAND-OTAGO HARBOUR
Goat Island
ON and after 18 October 1954, drilling operations will be continued during the hours of darkness from the gantry situated on Goat Island.
The drill itself will be illuminated by a white light hanging from the gantry. This will be switched off when vessels are passing Observation Point inwards and on passing Stinking Point outwards.
Masters of vessels are requested to give one long blast of ten seconds on passing the above positions to warn contractors of their approach.
