EKETAHUNA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 and its amendments, and all other Acts, powers, and authorities in that behalf enabling it, the Eketauna Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing for the charges (principal and interest) on a loan of £3,000 (three thousand pounds), to be known as Housing Loan 1953, authorized to be raised by the Eketauna Borough Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the construction of a worker’s dwelling in Eketauna, the said Eketauna Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and three-quarters pence (1¾d.) in the pound on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable land in the Borough of Eketauna; and that such special rate be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

We, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Eketauna Borough Council held in the Borough Chambers, Main Street, Eketauna, on 11 November 1953.

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 16th day of August 1954, the above-named company duly resolved by a special resolution—

‘‘1. That the company be wound up voluntarily.
‘‘2. That Albert Alfred Jarvie, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.’’

THE liquidator of the Crown Pie Co. Ltd., which is being wound up voluntarily, does hereby fix the 21st day of September 1954 as the day on or before which the creditors of the company are to prove their debts or claims and to establish any title they may have to priority under section 258 of the Act, or to be excluded from the benefit of distribution made before such debts are proved, or, as the case may be, from objecting to such distribution.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION

In the matter of the Companies Act 1908, and in the matter of Iles and Poole Ltd. (in voluntary liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the above-named company, held in the Board Room of Messrs Thompson and Lang, A.M.P. Chambers, 163 Princes Street, Dunedin, C.1, the following special resolutions were passed:

‘‘1. That the company be wound up voluntarily.
‘‘2. That Noel Eric Patton, Public Accountant, of Dunedin, be appointed liquidator of the company.’’

All persons or companies having claims against the above-named company are required to send full particulars thereof to the undersigned on or before the 9th day of September 1954, otherwise they may be excluded from participation in any distribution of assets.

HOROWHENUA ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Horowhenua Electric Power Board Staff Housing Loan 1954, £10,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Horowhenua Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Horowhenua Electric Power Board Housing Loan, authorized to be raised by the Horowhenua Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing staff housing, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/80d. in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Horowhenua Electric Power Board District, as defined in the Proclamation appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 100 of the 1st day of December 1921, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

The above resolution passed at the meeting of the Horowhenua Electric Power Board held on the 18th day of August 1954.

NORTHCOTE BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR STREET

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928

NOTICE is hereby given that the Northcote Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, to take for public street the private way known as Denby Lane, Northcote, together with certain parcels of land thereto adjoining, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, Princes Street, Northcote, and is open for public inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have well-grounded objections to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers.
