WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

The Wellington City Johnsonville Sewerage Loan 1954 of £163,000

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926 and its amendments, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, repayment of principal, and other charges on a loan of one hundred and sixty-three thousand pounds (£163,000), to be known as the Wellington City Johnsonville Sewerage Loan 1954 of £163,000, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing a sewerage system for Johnsonville and adjoining areas, the Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ninety-five eight-hundredths of a penny (95/800d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan if fully paid off.’’

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 11th day of August 1954.

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of section 222 of the Companies Act 1933, that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in the above-named company, duly convened and held on the 12th day of August 1954, the following special resolution was passed:

‘‘That the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act 1933 applicable to a members' voluntary winding-up, and that Robert John Knowles, Taxation Consultant, 18 Water Street, Dunedin, be appointed liquidator of the company for the purposes of such winding-up.''

TIMARU CITY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, and the Public Works Act 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Timaru City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work (namely the subdivision of land into building allotments, including formation of streets and provision for necessary services, pursuant to Part XXVII of the said Municipal Corporations Act 1933), and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the Public Office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, situated in King George’s Place, Timaru, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objection in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, King George’s Place, Timaru.
