TIMARU CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, and the Public Works Act 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Timaru City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work (viz., the subdivision of land into building allotments, including formation of streets and provision for necessary services, pursuant to Part XXVII of the said Municipal Corporations Act 1933), and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, situated in King George’s Place, Timaru, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send same within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, King George’s Place, Timaru.

WAIPAWA COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Ashcott Water Race Loan 1953, £4,000
IN pursuance and exercise of powers vested in it by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Council of the County of Waipawa hereby resolves as follows:
'That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of four thousand pounds (£4,000), authorized to be raised by the Waipawa County Council for the purpose of constructing the Ashcott Water Race, the said Waipawa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two and forty-six thousandths of a penny (2·046d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Ashcott Water Race Special Rating District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and shall be payable yearly on the 15th day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.'
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Waipawa County Council held at the Council Chambers, Waipawa, on Monday, 9 August 1954.
