BOUNDARIES OF THE BIRKENHEAD RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF WAITEMATA

All that area in the North Auckland Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Okura River in Block XV, Waiwera Survey District, being the northern corner of Lot 1 on D.P. 12038, being part of Allotment 3, Parish of Okura, and running north-easterly down the right bank of that river, and down the line of mean high water along that right bank, to the shores of the Hauraki Gulf; thence southerly and then westerly along the boundaries of the Waitemata County, as hereinbefore described, to the mouth of the Lucas Creek in Block VII, Waitemata Survey District; thence northerly generally up the line of mean high water along the left bank of that creek, to and along the north-eastern side of the Birkenhead-Maungaturoto State Highway in Block III, Waitemata Survey District, to and along the eastern boundary of the Pukeatua Riding, as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 15 of the 19th day of March 1953, page 474, to the point of commencement.

Time and Place of Elections by Fire-insurance Companies to Fill an Extraordinary Vacancy on the Fire Board for the Waitara Fire District and the Fire Committee for the Inglewood Fire District


PURSUANT to the provisions of the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 12 o’clock noon on Wednesday, 25 August 1954, as the time, and the offices of the Council of Fire and Accident Underwriters’ Associations, 97 The Terrace, Wellington, as the place, for the holding of a meeting of representatives of the insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to elect a member to the Fire Board for the Waitara Urban Fire District and to the Fire Committee for the Inglewood Urban Fire District.

Poukawa Drainage Area—Notice of Making and Levying General Rates


PURSUANT to the Swamp Drainage Act 1915 and its amendments, the Minister of Lands does hereby make and levy, on the unimproved value of all land within the Poukawa Drainage Area constituted under the said Act, the general rates described in the Schedule hereto, such respective rates being for the purpose of meeting maintenance costs for the period 1 April 1954 to 31 March 1955.

The amount of such rates, together with the amount of the annually recurring special rates already made and levied, will be payable in one sum on 30 August 1954 to the Collector of Rates, Room 8, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, at which office the rate book will be open for inspection. A copy of the rate book will be available for inspection at the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Post Office Buildings, Napier, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.


SCHEDULE

GENERAL RATES

CLASS A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act 1928, eightpence and thirty-four one-hundredths of a penny (8·34d.) in the pound.

CLASS B: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B one penny and thirty-nine one-hundredths of a penny (1·39d.) in the pound.

CLASS C: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, twenty-eight one-hundredths of a penny (0·28d.) in the pound.

Waihi Drainage Area—Notice of Making and Levying General Rates


PURSUANT to the Swamp Drainage Act 1915 and its amendments, the Minister of Lands does hereby make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within the Pukehina Subdivision of the Waihi Drainage Area constituted under the said Act the general rates described in the First Schedule hereto, and on the unimproved value of all land included in the Central Subdivision, the general rate described in the Second Schedule hereto, and on the unimproved value of all land in the Kaikokopu Subdivision the general rates described in the Third Schedule hereto, such respective rates being for the purpose of meeting maintenance costs for the period 1 April 1954 to 31 March 1955.

The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on 30 August 1954, together with the amount of the annually recurring special rates already made and levied, to the Collector of Rates, Room 8, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland.

The rate book will be open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, and a copy of same will be available for inspection at the office of the Kaituna River Board, Tauranga, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.


FIRST SCHEDULE

GENERAL RATES

Pukehina Subdivision

CLASS A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act 1928, twopence and ninety-five one-hundredths of a penny (2·95d.) in the pound.

CLASS C: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, one penny and thirty-one one-hundredths of a penny (1·31d.) in the pound.


SECOND SCHEDULE

GENERAL RATES

Central Subdivision

CLASS A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act 1928, fivepence and nineteen one-hundredths of a penny (5·19d.) in the pound.


THIRD SCHEDULE

GENERAL RATES

Kaikokopu Subdivision

CLASS A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act 1928, threepence and fifty-four one-hundredths of a penny (3·54d.) in the pound.

CLASS B: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B twopence and seventy-five one-hundredths of a penny (2·75d.) in the pound.

CLASS C: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, one penny and fifty-seven one-hundredths of a penny (1·57d.) in the pound.

Hauraki Plains Drainage District—Notice of Making and Levying Rates


PURSUANT to the Hauraki Plains Act 1926, the Minister of Lands does hereby make and levy, on the unimproved value of all lands within the district constituted under the said Act, the general rates to meet maintenance costs for the period 1 April 1954 to 31 March 1955, as described in the Schedule hereto.

The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on 30 August 1954.

The rate book of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Room 8, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the Land Drainage Office of the Ministry of Works at Kerepeehi at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.


SCHEDULE

CLASS A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the appraiser appointed under the said Act, eightpence and fifty-eight one-hundredths of a penny (8·58d.) in the pound.

CLASS B: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, fourpence and nine-tenths of a penny (4·9d.) in the pound.

CLASS C: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, one penny and twenty-three one-hundredths of a penny (1·23d.) in the pound.
