Kaitaia Drainage Area—Notice of Making and Levying General Rates
Pursuant to the Swamp Drainage Act 1915 and its amendments, the Minister of Lands does hereby make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within the Kaitaia Town District Subdivision of the Kaitaia Drainage Area constituted under the said Act, a general rate described in the First Schedule hereto, and on the unimproved value of all land in the subdivision of the Kaitaia Drainage Area outside the Kaitaia Town District the general rates described in the Second Schedule hereto, such respective rates being for the purpose of meeting maintenance costs for the period from 1 April 1954 to 31 March 1955.
The amount of such rates, together with the amount of the annually recurring special rates already made and levied, will be payable in one sum on 30 August 1954 to the Collector of Rates, Room 8, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, at which office the rate book will be available for inspection. A copy of the rate book will be available for inspection at the office of the Lands and Survey Department at Kaitaia at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.
FIRST SCHEDULE
TOWN SUBDIVISION
On the unimproved value of all lands within the Kaitaia Town District, seventy-two one-hundredths of a penny (0.72d.) in the pound.
SECOND SCHEDULE
RURAL SUBDIVISION
CLASS A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act 1928, twenty-five pence and seventeen one-hundredths of a penny (25·17d.) in the pound.
CLASS B: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B eightpence and eighty-one one-hundredths of a penny (8·81d.) in the pound.
CLASS C: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, threepence and seventy-seven one-hundredths of a penny (3·77d.) in the pound.

Revoking the Reservation Over a Reserve in Canterbury Land District
Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the reservation for recreation purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Declaring Portion of Parnell Domain to be a Recreation Reserve Subject to Part II of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, and Revoking the Reservation Over the Said Land
Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby declares that the portion of the Parnell Domain described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to Part III of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, and shall be deemed to be a recreation reserve subject to Part II of that Act, and, further, revokes the reservation for recreation purposes over the said land.

Notice of Intention to Take Land for a Scenic Reserve in Block III, Halswell Survey District
Notice is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for a scenic reserve; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Cashmere, Christchurch, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the persons described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize them to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of their employment for the employers described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize them while they are under the age of eighteen years to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act 1936
Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor Spirit
Transport Repairs Ltd., 55–71 Station Road, Penrose, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed at garage premises at 55–71 Station Road, Penrose.
A. R. Chaffey and R. J. Dougherty, Tuhoro Street, Otorohanga, have applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from one pump to be installed at service-station and garage premises at Tuhoro Street, Otorohanga.
Raumati Stores Ltd., Raumati, has applied for permission to change the retail selling point of one pump from its present position at store premises at Raumati to a new site about 150 yds. distant at service-station premises on a corner in Rosetta Road, Raumati.
Ross Todd Motors Ltd., Cambridge, has applied for a licence to resell motor spirit from two pumps to be installed at garage premises at Kirkwood Street, Cambridge, such pumps to be shifted from their present site at the corner of Carlyle and Lamb Streets, Leamington.
Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 26 August 1954, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender.
