Land Taken for the Sockburn–Styx Railway in Blocks IX and X, Christchurch Survey District

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the Sockburn–Styx Railway.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 40 acres 3 roods 27·2 perches.

Being Lot 2 and part Lot 3, D.P. 12854, being part Rural Section 1156, situated in Blocks IX and X, Christchurch Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 532, folio 249 (Canterbury Land Registry).

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 17th day of June 1954.

Revoking Part of a Proclamation Defining the Middle Line of the Sockburn–Styx Railway

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Proclamation dated the 18th day of June 1953, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 35 of the 25th day of June 1953, defining the middle line of the Sockburn–Styx Railway, in so far as it affects Lot 4, D.P. 6301, situated in Blocks IX and X, Christchurch Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 348, folio 17 (Canterbury Land Registry).

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 17th day of June 1954.

Allocating Railway Land to the Purposes of Road in Block V, Russell Survey District

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 226 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto (and which was taken for a further portion of the Kawakawa Railway and is not now required for such purpose) shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become road, and that such road shall be maintained by the National Roads Board in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Board.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land dealt with: 2 acres 35·8 perches.

Being part railway land in Proclamation 810.

Situated in Block V, Russell Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 35803.)

Defining the Middle Line of a Transmission-line in Blocks XI, XIV, and XV, Tauranga Survey District—viz., the Tauranga–Mount Maunganui 110 kV. Transmission-line (Lake Taupo and the Waikato River Power Scheme)

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, and section 43 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the Tauranga–Mount Maunganui 110 kV. transmission-line (Lake Taupo and the Waikato River Power Scheme) proposed to be constructed under the authority of an Order in Council dated the 13th day of March 1940, made pursuant to section 311 of the Public Works Act 1928, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 14th day of the same month, in Blocks XI, XIV, and XV, Tauranga Survey District, shall be the line defined and described in the Schedule hereto; and I hereby define as being land upon and in respect of which it is intended to exercise the powers conferred by the Public Works Act 1928, and by any other Act, in respect of the erection, maintenance, and use of the said transmission-line, all the land situated within the dotted red lines on the plan marked P.W.D. 143067 referred to in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

All in the South Auckland Land District, as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 143067, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 53 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorizes the Timaru Harbour Board to invest the sum of eight thousand pounds (£8,000) of the Board’s Renewal and Reserve Fund in the North Canterbury Hospital Board’s debentures at 4 per cent, maturing in 1969, and hereby revokes the Order in Council of the 19th day of May 1954, and published in the Gazette of the 27th day of the same month, at page 895, authorizing the investment of £8,000 of the Timaru Harbour Board’s Funds in the Canterbury Hospital Board’s debentures maturing in 1959.
