Results of Polls for Proposed Loans

PURSUANT to the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926 the following notices received by the Minister of Finance from the Chairman, Makara County Council, are hereby published.

MAKARA COUNTY COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers in the Titahi Bay Special Rating Area of the County of Makara taken on the 12th day of December 1953 on the proposal of the Makara County Council to borrow the sum of £77,000 for the purpose of providing water and sewerage reticulation:

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 33.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 138.
Informal votes, 6.

I therefore declare that the proposal was lost.
