Present:
THE QUEEN'S MOST EXCELLENT MAJESTY IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Rabbit Nuisance Act 1928 and the Royal Powers Act 1953, Her Majesty the Queen, acting by and with the advice and consent of Her Executive Council, is pleased to make the following order.
ORDER
-
(1) This order may be cited as the Waimatuku Rabbit District Order 1954.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. -
The boundaries of the Waimatuku Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 17th day of August 1938,* are hereby altered and redefined; and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule to this order.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE WAIMATUKU RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, Wallace County, containing by estimation 46,000 acres, more or less, inclusive of roads and streams, and bounded as follows:
Commencing at a point on the left bank of the Aparima River in line with the north-eastern side of a public road forming the south-western boundary of Lot 1 on the plan numbered 2845 deposited in the Land Registry Office at Invercargill; thence towards the north-east by a right line across a road reserve, the north-eastern side of a public road forming the south-western boundaries of Lot 1 and Lot 2 on the said plan numbered 2845, Lots 9, 10, and 11 on the plan numbered 238 and deposited as aforesaid, and Lot 12 on the plan numbered 210 and deposited as aforesaid; thence towards the east by the eastern side of a public road forming the western boundaries of Lots 6 and 7 on the plan numbered 211 and deposited as aforesaid, Section 151, Block IV, Oreti Hundred, and Lot 2 on the plan numbered 302 and deposited as aforesaid, to the Waimatuku Stream; thence again towards the east by the Waimatuku Stream; thence towards the south by the ocean; thence towards the west generally by the Aparima River to the point of commencement; save and excepting out of the above-described area that part of the Borough of Riverton which is known as the Town of Riverton and which lies on the eastern side of the Aparima River; as the same is delineated on the plan marked Ag. 64/1/120, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Agriculture at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

The Waikaia Rural Fire District Order 1954

THE QUEEN'S MOST EXCELLENT MAJESTY IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1947 and the Royal Powers Act 1953, Her Majesty the Queen, acting by and with the advice and consent of Her Executive Council, is pleased to make the following order.
ORDER
-
(1) This order may be cited as the Waikaia Rural Fire District Order 1954.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. -
The area specified in the Schedule to this order is hereby constituted a rural fire district to be known as the Waikaia Rural Fire District.

The trees and other plants on land in the said district under the control of the Southland County Council are hereby specified as the property for the protection of which the district is constituted.

The Southland County Council is hereby constituted as the rural fire committee to administer the Waikaia Rural Fire District for the purposes of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1947.

The period between the 1st day of July in any year and the 30th day of April in the following year is hereby specified and declared to be a closed fire season in the said district.
SCHEDULE
AREA INCLUDED IN THE WAIKAIA RURAL FIRE DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, Southland County, containing approximately 3,500 acres, situated in Blocks VIII, IX, and XII, Waikaia Survey District, and Block I, Wendon Survey District, bounded towards the east by Section 23, Block VIII, Waikaia Survey District; towards the north by the northern side of a public road and the crossing of the Waikaia Main Highway; towards the east, south, and south-east by the eastern, southern, and south-eastern sides of the aforementioned highway to and across Stirling Road; towards the south-west by the south-western side of Stirling Road to and across McRarie Road; towards the west by the western side of a public road, the crossing of McKenzie Road, the western side of a public road, and the crossing of a road; towards the north-west by the north-western side of a public road; and towards the north by the crossing of the last-mentioned road, Section 4, Block XII, Waikaia Survey District, by a right line being the production of the southern boundary of the last-mentioned Section to the eastern side of a public road, and by Sections 34 and 25, Block VIII, aforesaid; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 193/6, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Consenting to the Raising of the Balance (Β£50,000) of the Wellington City Council's Loan of Β£100,000 and Prescribing the Conditions Thereof

THE QUEEN'S Most EXCELLENT MAJESTY IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the Wellington City Council (hereinafter called the said local authority), being desirous of raising a loan of one hundred thousand pounds to be known as 'Aerodrome Development Loan No. 1 1952' (hereinafter called the said loan) for the purpose of carrying out works associated with the Rongotai Aerodrome Development Scheme, has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926 (hereinafter called the said Act):
And whereas by Order in Council made on the 24th day of February 1953 consent was given to the raising of portion of the said loan amounting to fifty thousand pounds:
And whereas the said local authority is now desirous of raising the balance of the said loan amounting to fifty thousand pounds (hereinafter called the said sum) and it is expedient that the precedent consent required by the said Act should be given to the raising of the said sum:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 11 of the said Act, as set out in section 29 of the Finance Act 1932 (No. 2), and to the Royal Powers Act 1953, Her Majesty the Queen, acting by and with the advice and consent of Her Executive Council, is pleased to consent to the raising in New Zealand by the said local authority of the said sum for the said purpose up to the amount of fifty thousand pounds, and in giving Her consent is pleased to determine as follows:

The term for which the said sum or any part thereof may be raised shall not exceed twenty-four years.

The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said sum or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate or rates exceeding four per cent per annum.

The said sum or any part thereof, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments extending over the term as determined in clause 1 hereof.
-
The payment of all such instalments shall be made in New Zealand and no such instalment shall be paid out of loan money.
-
The rate payable for brokerage, underwriting, and procurement fees in respect of the raising of the said sum or any part thereof shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half per cent of any amount raised.

No money shall be borrowed under this consent after the expiration of two years from the date hereof.
