Judge of the Maori Land Court Appointed

Pursuant to section 16 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby appoint Selwyn Clemens Clarke, Esquire, of Auckland, to be a Judge of the Maori Land Court on and from the 1st day of May 1954.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand, this 30th day of April 1954.

Warrant Vesting the Control of Certain Roads, on the Boundary Between Stratford Borough and Stratford County, in the Stratford Borough Council

Pursuant to section 120 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby direct that the roads described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of gazetting hereof, be under the control of the Stratford Borough Council; and I hereby further direct that the cost of construction or maintenance or lighting or widening or reconstructing of the said roads shall be borne in the following proportions, viz.—the Stratford Borough Council to bear half of such cost and the Stratford County Council to bear half of such cost respectively.
SCHEDULE
All those portions of roads, in the Taranaki Land District on the boundary between the Stratford Borough and the Stratford County, as described hereunder:
Firstly, Flint Road from the western boundary of Section 97, Block I, and extending eastwards to the western side of Mountain Road, a distance of approximately 23 chains, and thence from the eastern side of Mountain Road in a general easterly direction for approximately 93 chains, terminating at the eastern boundary of Section 12, Block II, being the western boundary of Esk Road.
Secondly, Esk Road from the north-east corner of Lot 7 of Section 80, Block II, in a general southerly direction to the northern side of Ohura Road, being the south-east corner of Section 80, Block II, an approximate distance of 10½ chains.
Thirdly, Swansea Road from the southern bank of the Patea River in a southerly direction for a distance of 34 chains, terminating at the northern side of Warwick Road, being the south-eastern corner of Section 97, Block II.
Fourthly, Brecon Road from the south-west corner of Section 48, Block I, being the southern boundary of the borough, in a northerly direction for approximately 25½ chains, to the south-east corner of Section 78A, Block I.
Fifthly, Opunake Road from the north-west corner of Section 78A, Block I, in a westerly direction for approximately 10¾ chains, terminating opposite the south-west corner of Sub. 10, Section 65A, Block I.
Sixthly, Pembroke Road from the south-west corner of Section 98, Block I, in a westerly direction for approximately 6 chains, terminating opposite the north-west corner of Sub. 1, Section 13, Block I.
As the said portions of roads are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 143002, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 29th day of April 1954.
