Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Gisborne Land District

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for a resting-place for travelling stock:
And whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the reservation over such land shall be changed to a reserve for a site for a roadman's cottage:
Now, therefore, pursuant to subsection (1) (a) of section 7 of the Public Reserves and Domains Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a reserve for a resting-place for travelling stock to a reserve for a site for a roadman's cottage.

Amending the Description of Reserves Vested in the Palmerston North City Council

ORDER IN COUNCIL

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the 19th day of August 1953 and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 48 of the 20th day of that month at page 1351 (hereinafter referred to as the said Order in Council) certain lands in Block X, Kairanga Survey District, were vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Palmerston North in trust, for recreation purposes, pursuant to section 9 of the Public Reserves and Domains Act 1928:
And whereas an error was made in the description of the said reserves in the Schedule to the said Order in Council, and it is expedient that the error should be rectified:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the said Act and of every other power and authority enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the said Order in Council by substituting the description of the reserves set forth in the Schedule hereto for the description of the reserves set forth in the Schedule to the said Order in Council.
SCHEDULE
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area situated in Block X, Kairanga Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 21·64 perches, more or less, being Lot 55 as shown on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Wellington under No. 15409, being part Suburban Sections 1029 and 1030, Township of Palmerston North.
Also, all that area situated in Block X, Kairanga Survey District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 4·41 perches, more or less, being Lot 53 as shown on a plan deposited as aforesaid under No. 15409, being part Suburban Sections 1021, 1022, 1023, and 1024, Township of Palmerston North.
Subject to the reservations and conditions imposed by section 59 of the Land Act 1948.

Increasing Number of Members of Kawakawa Town Board

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Town Boards Act 1908, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby increase the number of members of the Board of Commissioners of the Town District of Kawakawa to seven, with effect as on and from the 1st day of April 1954.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 23rd day of March 1954.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Levin Borough Council

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Scenery Preservation Act 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), His Excellency the Governor-General hereby vests the control of the Waiopohu Scenic Reserve, described in the Schedule hereto-(being land reserved under the said Act), in the Levin Borough Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:
- The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.
- The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the 31st day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.
- The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT—WAIOPEHU SCENIC RESERVE
SECTION 43 and part Section 44, Block II, Waiopohu Survey District: Area, 22 acres 2 roods, more or less. As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 4/453, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 20th day of March 1954.

Honorary Inspector of Scenic Reserves Appointed

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Scenery Preservation Act 1908, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby appoint Gerald Beamish White, the Younger to be an Honorary Inspector under the said Act.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 22nd day of March 1954.
