and along a right line across Buller Street to the north-
eastern corner of Residence Site 439; thence along the
northern boundaries of that residence site, and of Residence
Site 439A, and along the northern side of Richmal Street
(crossing Grey Street) to the eastern boundary of Special
Site A; thence along a right line across Richmal Street
aforesaid, to and along the southern part of the eastern
boundary of Special Site A aforesaid, the south-eastern
boundary of Special Site No. 7 containing 5 acres, and along
a right line being the last-mentioned boundary produced
across Morgan Street to its south-western side; thence along
that side of the said street to and along the northern and
western boundaries of Residence Site 408, to and along right
lines parallel to, and 1 chain distant, in a south-easterly
direction from, the south-eastern boundary of Residence
Site 407 to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary
of Residence Site 400; thence along another right line to
and along that last-mentioned boundary, the abutment of a
road, and the south-eastern and western boundaries of Section
174, Block XV, Ohinemuri Survey District, to the western-
most corner of that Section; thence along a right line across
Bulltown Road to the intersection of its western side with
the northern side of Pitt Street; thence along the northern
side of Pitt Street to the western side of Savage Road; thence
along a right line across Pitt Street to the north-eastern
corner of Section 181, Block XV, aforesaid; thence still
westerly along the southern side of Pitt Street, and along a
right line, being that side produced to the western side of
Kensington Road; thence southerly along that side of Ken-
sington Road to the southern side of Rata Street; thence
again westerly generally along that side of Rata Street, and
the eastern side of Waitete Road to a point in line with the
southern boundary of Section 189, Block XV aforesaid; thence
along a right line across Waitete Road to and along
that last-mentioned boundary, and along a right line, being
that boundary produced to the left bank of the Waitete
Stream aforesaid; thence northerly generally up that
left bank to the point of commencement.
(Note that all residence and special sites mentioned herein
are subdivisions of the Waihi Township numbered by the
Mining Warden, and shown on S.D. plan 26502, lodged in
the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland.)
Also all that area containing approximately 60 acres, being
that portion of Waihi Beach Road between Tauranga Road
and the Pacific Ocean, and being all the land secondly
described in the First Schedule of the notification published
in New Zealand Gazette No. 73 of the 28th day of October
1926, page 3045.
Also all that area containing approximately 76 acres,
being all the land in certificate of title, Volume 386, folio 245,
Auckland Land Registry, and being all the land thirdly
described in the First Schedule of the notification published
in New Zealand Gazette No. 73 of the 28th day of October
1926, page 3045.

Boundaries of Borough of Takapuna and County of Waitemata Altered

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 23rd day
of February 1954
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 136 of the Municipal
Corporations Act 1933, a petition was presented to the
Governor-General praying that a certain area of land be
excluded from the County of Waitemata and included in
the Borough of Takapuna:
And whereas, pursuant to section 24 of the Local Govern-
ment Commission Act 1946, the said petition was referred to
the Local Government Commission:
And whereas, pursuant to the Local Government Com-
mission Act 1946, the Local Government Commission has
made inquiry into the proposal and has approved as final a
scheme bearing date the 10th day of February 1954, providing
for the exclusion of the area described in the Schedule to the
said scheme from the County of Waitemata and the inclusion
of that area in the Borough of Takapuna:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the
final scheme as hereinafter appearing:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the Local Government Com-
mission Act 1946, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
hereby declares:
-
That as on and from the 1st day of April 1954, the
area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from
the County of Waitemata and included in the Borough of
Takapuna. -
That as on and from the date aforesaid, the Borough
of Takapuna shall be divided into two wards and the names of
the said wards shall be respectively Ward A and Ward B. -
That the area comprising the Borough of Takapuna
as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 61 of the 27th day
of August 1925, at page 2492, shall form Ward A and the
area described in the Schedule hereto shall form Ward B. -
That, as on and from the date aforesaid, the number
of Councillors of the Borough of Takapuna, exclusive of the
Mayor, shall be eleven, of whom nine shall represent Ward A
and two shall represent Ward B. -
That the alteration of boundaries hereinbefore made
shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal
Corporations Act 1933.
SCHEDULE
AREA EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF WAITEMATA AND
INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF TAKAPUNA
ALL that area of approximately 500 acres, bounded by a line
commencing at a point in Block VIII, Waitemata Survey
District, on the generally north-western boundary of the
Borough of Takapuna, being the westernmost corner of Lot 1
on D.P. 8886, and running northerly generally along the
generally eastern boundary of Lot 12 on D.P. 12173, being
part of Allotment 190, Takapuna Parish, to the north-western
corner of Lot 10 on D.P. 33966, being part of the said
Allotment 190; thence along a right line, being the western
boundary of the said Lot 10 produced to the south-eastern
boundary of Allotment 249, Takapuna Parish aforesaid; thence
north-easterly along that south-eastern boundary, and
along a right line across the Takapuna-Silverdale Main
Highway (East Coast Road) to and along the south-eastern
boundary of Allotment 250, Takapuna Parish aforesaid, to
the south-western boundary of Lot 13 on D.P. 27647, being
parts of Allotments 190 aforesaid and 267 of the said parish;
thence south-easterly along that south-western boundary, the
south-western boundary of Lot 18 on D.P. 27647 aforesaid,
being parts of the said Allotments 190 and 267, and a right
line across Beach Road to the south-western corner of Lot 13
on D.P. 9328, being part of Allotment 190 aforesaid; thence
easterly along the southern boundary of the said Lot 13, to
the line of mean high-water of the Hauraki Gulf; thence
southerly generally along that line of mean high-water to its
intersection with the line of mean high-water on the southern
side of the mouth of the Wairau Creek; thence generally
south-westerly along the boundary of the Borough of Taka-
puna aforesaid, as described in New Zealand Gazette
No. 61 of the 27th day of August 1925, page 2492, to the
westernmost corner of Lot 1 on D.P. 8886 aforesaid,
the point of commencement.

That Johan Herbert Raymond Reich, of Birkenhead,
shall be the Returning Officer to conduct the first election
of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough. -
That the said Johan Herbert Raymond Reich shall be
the Town Clerk and the person to prepare the district electorsβ
roll for the purpose of the said first election. -
That the first election of Mayor and Councillors of
the said borough shall be held on Saturday, the 8th day of
May 1954. -
That the first meeting of the Council of the said
borough shall be held on Wednesday, the 26th day of May
1954, at 7.30 p.m., in the Progress Hall at Browns Bay. -
That the constitution of the said borough shall be
deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations
Act 1933.
