road forming the northern boundaries of Sections 16, 17, and 18, Block VIII, Motatau Survey District aforesaid, to and along the north-western side of the aforesaid North Auckland Railway to the western boundary of Section 14 of Block VIII aforesaid; thence northerly along that western boundary to, and south-westerly down, the middle of the Ramarama Stream to a point in Block VII, Motatau Survey District, in line with the north-western boundary of Motatau No. 2 No. 31 Block; thence along a right line to and along the said north-western boundary and the north-eastern boundary of Motatau No. 2 No. 56 Block to a public road; thence along a right line running due north to and along the northern and western sides of the public road forming the northern and western boundaries of the aforesaid No. 2 No. 56 Block, to and along the generally north-western boundaries of Motatau No. 2 Nos. 55 and 58 Blocks and along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the Otai Stream; thence northerly generally down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Motatau No. 1c 3F Block, and along a right line to and along the said north-eastern boundary, crossing an intervening public road, and along the northern boundary of Motatau No. 1c 3E Block, the eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Motatau No. 1c 3C Block, the north-eastern boundaries of Motatau Nos. 1c 3A, 1B 4B 3, 1B 4B 2, and 1B 4B 1 Blocks, and along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced along and across a public road to the middle of the Waiharakeke Stream in Block II, Motatau Survey District; thence down the middle of that stream to the boundary of the Kawakawa Parish in Block XV, Kawakawa Survey District, and north-westerly along that parish boundary to the north-eastern corner of the part of Porotu Block in Block VII, Kawakawa Survey District, containing 124 acres and 19 perches; thence along the northern boundary of that area to and along the eastern, north-eastern, and north-western boundaries of part of Henry Williamโ€™s Grant No. 5c shown on L.T. 8544, crossing the intervening public road, along the northern boundary of Lot 6 on D.P. 24566, being part of Sarah Huttonโ€™s Grant, along the generally eastern boundaries of Old Land Claim 59 and along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the Paihia Road aforesaid; thence north-easterly along the middle of that road to the point of commencement; save and excepting therefrom the Town District of Kawakawa as hereinbefore described.

Merging Town District of Pleasant Point in County of Levels and Constituting Pleasant Point Secondary Urban Fire District

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 23rd day of February 1954

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS, at the request of the Pleasant Point Town Board, the Local Government Commission, pursuant to section 14 of the Local Government Commission Act 1946, has considered certain proposals for the merger of the Town District of Pleasant Point in the County of Levels:

And whereas, pursuant to the said Act, the Local Government Commission has approved as final a scheme bearing date the 22nd day of October 1953 providing for the merger of the Town District of Pleasant Point in the Point Riding of the County of Levels and the dissolution of the Pleasant Point Town Board, and providing also for the abolition of the Pleasant Point Secondary Urban Fire District and the constitution of the urban area of Pleasant Point as a secondary urban fire district:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final scheme as hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1946, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares:

  1. (a) That from the 31st day of March 1954 the Town District of Pleasant Point shall be merged in the Point Riding of the County of Levels, and the Pleasant Point Town Board shall be dissolved.

(b) That all valuation rolls, electors lists, electors rolls, and rate books in force in the Pleasant Point Town District on the date aforesaid shall continue in force and be deemed to form part of the valuation rolls, electors lists, electors rolls and rate books in force in the Point Riding of the County of Levels until new valuation rolls, electors lists, electors rolls, and rate books are made for the said Riding of the said County.

(c) That all property and the control of any land or thing vested at the date aforesaid in the Corporation or Town Board of the Pleasant Point Town District shall on that date be vested in the Corporation and the Council respectively of the County of Levels, and all liabilities and engagements of the Corporation of the said town district, and all proceedings pending by or against the said Corporation, shall respectively be liabilities and engagements of, and proceedings to be carried on, by or against the Corporation of the said County.

  1. (a) That from the 31st day of March 1954, the Pleasant Point Secondary Urban Fire District shall be abolished.

(b) That on the 1st day of April 1954 the urban area of Pleasant Point shall be a secondary urban fire district by the name of the Pleasant Point Secondary Urban Fire District.

Merging Town District of Kawhia in County of Kawhia

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 27 of the Counties Act 1920, a petition was presented to the Kawhia County Council praying for the abolition of the Town District of Kawhia:

And whereas, pursuant to section 24 of the Local Government Commission Act 1946, the said petition was referred to the Local Government Commission:

And whereas, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1946, the Local Government Commission has approved as final a scheme bearing date the 22nd day of October 1953, providing for the merger of the Town District of Kawhia in the County of Kawhia and the dissolution of the Kawhia Town Board:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final scheme as hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1946, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that as on and from the 1st day of April 1954, the Town District of Kawhia shall be merged in the County of Kawhia and the Kawhia Town Board shall be dissolved, and, with the like advice and consent, hereby also declares that the merger of the said town district in the said county shall be deemed to have been effected under the Counties Act 1920.

Boundaries of Borough of Manurewa and County of Manukau Altered

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 23rd day of February 1954

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 136 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, certain petitions were presented to the Governor-General praying that certain areas of land be excluded from the Borough of Manurewa and included in the County of Manukau:

And whereas, pursuant to section 24 of the Local Government Commission Act 1946, the said petitions were referred to the Local Government Commission:

And whereas, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1946, the Local Government Commission has made inquiry into the proposals and has approved as final a scheme bearing date the 5th day of November 1953 providing for the exclusion of the areas described in the Schedule to the said scheme from the Borough of Manurewa and the inclusion of those areas in the County of Manukau:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final scheme as hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1946, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that as on and from the 1st day of April 1954 the areas described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the Borough of Manurewa, and included in the County of Manukau, and, with the like advice and consent, hereby also declares that the alteration of boundaries of the said borough and the said county hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1933.
