Notice of Meeting
NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 232 of the Companies Act 1933, that a general meeting of the above-mentioned company will be held at the offices of Messrs Froude and Henderson, Accountants, Miriama Street, Taumarunui, on Wednesday, the 25th day of November 1953, at 10 a.m., for the purpose of having an account of the winding-up of the company laid before the meeting, showing how the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books and papers of the company and of the liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1933
PUBLIC notification is hereby given that, following the expiration of one calendar month after the date of publication of this notice, the Balclutha Borough Council will present to His Excellency the Governor-General a petition, which may during office hours be inspected at the offices of the Balclutha Borough Council at Clyde Street, Balclutha, praying that the boundaries of the Borough of Balclutha be altered to include the lands comprised and described in the Schedule hereto.
Dated at Balclutha, this 21st day of October 1953.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
—
Workers Dwelling Loan 1953, £2,850
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Waipa County Council hereby resolves as follows:
‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,850, authorized to be raised by the Waipa County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing workers’ dwellings for council employees, the said Waipa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-hundredth (1/100) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the County of Waipa; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be repayable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Waipa County Council held on the 19th day of October 1953.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR TRANSPORT LOAN 1953, OF £475,000
—
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves as follows:
‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £475,000 authorized to be raised by the Dunedin City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the change-over of the city’s transport system to trolley-bus operation, the said Dunedin City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-pence farthing (3¼d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the City of Dunedin; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first (1st) day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves as follows:
‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £20,000 authorized to be raised by the Dunedin City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of altering and extending the existing city abattoir buildings to provide facilities for chilling all meat, providing a manager’s office, inspector’s room, and paving a space for vehicle access, the said Dunedin City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·122d. in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the City of Dunedin; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first (1st) day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves as follows:
‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £23,000 authorized to be raised by the Dunedin City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of constructing kerbs and channels, paving streets, and carrying out street improvements generally, the said Dunedin City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·2d. in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the City of Dunedin; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first (1st) day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’

‘‘That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £25,000 authorized to be raised by the Dunedin City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing extensions to the water-supply system, the said Dunedin City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·16d. in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the City of Dunedin; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first (1st) day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’’
