the northern side of Marshall's Road to the shores of the
Tauranga Harbour; thence southerly generally along the line
of mean high water of the western shores of the aforesaid
harbour, to and along the left bank of the Wainui River
Estuary to the north-eastern corner of Allotment 302, Apata
Parish; thence along the south-eastern boundaries of Allotment
302, Lot 3 on Deposited Plan numbered 37248, being part of
Allotment 226 of the aforesaid parish, Section 7 of Block V,
Aongatete Survey District, Sections 8 and 9 of Block VIII,
Aongatete Survey District, part of Allotment 228 and State
Forest Reserves as described in New Zealand Gazettes of
1886, page 1304, 1949, page 1003, and 1935, page 3572, and
the north-western boundaries of Lots 1 and 2 on Deposited
Plan numbered 5156 to the boundary of the Tauranga County
as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 23 of the 20th day
of April 1950, page 472; thence northerly and easterly
generally along the aforesaid Tauranga County boundary to
the point (Te Ararimu), the point of commencement. Also
including the Islands of Matakana, Rangiwaea, Egg, Tutaetaka,
and other adjacent Islands.

Katikati Town Riding

ALL that area in the County of Tauranga, bounded by
a line commencing at a point in Block IX, Katikati Survey
District, being the intersection of a right line between the
south-western corner of Allotment 43, Parish of Tahawai, and
a point on the eastern side of the Paeroa-Whakatane State
Highway in line with the northern boundary of Lot 1 on
Deposited Plan numbered 17963, being part of Allotment 53
of the aforesaid parish, with the western shores of the
Tauranga Harbour; thence easterly along the aforesaid right
line across the Uritara Stream to the south-western corner
of Allotment 43 aforesaid, and easterly, southerly, and westerly
generally along the line of mean high water of the western
shores of the Tauranga Harbour to and northerly generally
along the boundary of the Katikati Riding, hereinbefore
described to the point of commencement.

Te Puna Riding

ALL that area in the Tauranga County bounded by a line
commencing at a point in Block XI, Aongatete Survey District,
being the intersection of the northern boundary of Lot 1,
Deposited Plan numbered 5156, being part of Whakamarama
No. 2 Block, with the western boundary of the Tauranga
County; and running north-easterly generally along the south-
cern bouudary of the Katikati Riding hereinbefore described
to the northern side of the mouth of the Wainui River; thence
easterly generally along the line of mean high water of the
southern shores of the Tauranga Harbour to and up the left
bank of the Wairoa River to its point of intersection with
the south-eastern corner of Kumikumi No. 2 Block, Block I,
Otanewainuku Survey District; thence along the south-eastern
boundary of Kumikumi No. 2 Block aforesaid, and the south-
eastern boundary of part Kumikumi No. 1 Block, to and along
the northern bank of the Ngamuwahine River to the north-
eastern corner of the Mangatotara No. 1A Block, along the
north-eastern boundary of the aforesaid Block to the boundary
of the County of Tauranga at Trig. Station No. 909,
Waianuanu; thence northerly generally along the boundary
of the Tauranga County as described in New Zealand Gazette
No. 23 of the 20th day of April 1950, page 472, to the point
of commencement. Also including the Islands of Te Hopai
and Motuhoa.

Waimapu Riding

ALL that area in the Tauranga County, bounded by a line
commencing at a point in Block II, Opoutihi Survey District,
being Trig. Station No. 909, Waianuanu, and running easterly
and northerly generally along the boundary of the Te Puna
Riding as hereinbefore described, to and along the line of mean
high water of the southern shores of the Tauranga Harbour,
along the eastern and southern boundaries of the Borough of
Tauranga as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 23 of the
20th day of April 1950, page 472, to the south-western side
of Faulkner Street; thence north-westerly along the aforesaid
south-western side to the eastern boundary of Allotment 524,
Parish of Te Papa; thence southerly generally along the
aforesaid eastern boundary of Allotment 524, along a right
line across a public road, to and along the eastern boundary
of Allotment 527 of the aforesaid parish to its south-eastern
corner; thence easterly generally along the north side of
Chadwick Road West to a point in line with the north-western
boundary of Alloment 245, Town of Greerton; thence along
a right line across Chadwick Road West, to and along the
western side of the public road being the north-western
boundary of Allotment 245 of the aforesaid town and the
north-western boundary of Allotment 22B of the aforesaid
parish, to and along the north-eastern boundary of Allotment
22 (Tauranga Race Course Domain), Te Papa Parish afore-
said, along the north-western side of the Tauranga-Piarere
State Highway to a point in line with the north-eastern
boundary of Allotment 28 of the aforesaid parish; thence
along a right line across the Tauranga-Piarere State Highway
aforesaid, to and along the north-eastern boundary of the
aforesaid Allotment 28, and along the north-western, north-
eastern, and eastern boundaries of Allotment 34 of the afore-
said parish to a public road; thence due easterly along a right
line across that public road to and northerly along the left
bank of the Waimapu River, easterly along the line of mean
high water of the southern shores of the Tauranga Harbour
and southerly along the left bank of the Kaitimako Stream,
to and along the north-western and eastern boundaries of Lot 1
and the eastern boundary of Lot 2, the aforesaid lots being
as shown on Deposited Plan numbered 9292, being part of
Waitaha No. 2 Block; along the eastern boundary of Lot 5,
Deposited Plan numbered 7603, and the northern and eastern
boundaries of Lot 2, Deposited Plan numbered S. 1502, being
parts of the aforesaid Waitaha No. 2 Block; along the north-
eastern boundary of Section 10s and the north-eastern and
south-eastern boundaries of Section 14s, the aforesaid Sections
being of Ohauiti Settlement, along a right line across a public
road to and along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 13, on
Deposited Plan numbered 7603 aforesaid, along the north-
eastern boundaries of Sections 15s, 16s, 26s, 27s, 29s, the abut-
ment of a public road and the north-eastern boundary of Section
30s, all the aforesaid Sections being of the said Ohauiti
Settlement; along the northern and eastern boundaries of
Waoku No. 2A Block, the eastern boundaries of Waoku No 2B
Block and Waoku No. 2 Block, the eastern boundary of
Section 3 of Block XVI, Otanewainuku Survey District, and
along a right line being the last-mentioned boundary produced
to the middle of a public road; thence along the middle of that
road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Taumata
No. 3c East B Block; thence along a right line to and along
the eastern boundary aforesaid, and the eastern boundary of
Taumata No. 3A 2B Block, crossing two intervening public
roads, and along a right line being the last-mentioned boundary
produced to the middle of the Mangorewa River; thence
westerly generally along the southern and south-western
boundaries of the County of Tauranga as described in New
Zealand Gazette No. 23 of the 20th day of April 1950, page
472, to Trig. Station number 909, Waianuanu, the point of
commencement.

Greerton Riding

ALL that area in the Tauranga County bounded by a line
commencing at the south-eastern corner of the Borough of
Tauranga and being the north-eastern corner of part of Lot
3 on Deposited Plan 3066, being part Allotment 20, Parish
of Te Papa, and running southerly generally along the line
of mean high water of the southern shores of the Tauranga
Harbour, to and westerly, northerly, and easterly generally
along the boundary of the Waimapu Riding hereinbefore
described to the boundary of the Borough of Tauranga; thence
south-easterly generally along the aforesaid Tauranga Borough
boundary, as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 23 of the
20th day of April 1950, page 472, to the north-eastern corner
of part of Lot 3 on Deposited Plan number 3066, the point
of commencement.

Special Order Made by the Chatham Islands County Council

Altering Riding Boundaries and Adjusting Representation

PURSUANT to section 100 of the Counties Act 1920, as
amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act
1921-22, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby publishes the
following special order made by the Chatham Islands County
Council, and fixes the 20th day of September 1953 as the date
from which the said special order shall take effect.
Dated at Wellington, this 16th day of September 1953.

SPECIAL ORDER

‘THAT at this special meeting of the Chatham Islands County
Council it is resolved that Pitt Island Riding be abolished,
and all that area previously known as Pitt Island Riding be
included in the present Eastern Riding, and that the riding
members in both the Central and Eastern Ridings be increased
by one member, from two to three members each, and that
the alteration take effect as from the 20th day of September
1953.’

All that area in the Wellington Land District, Chatham
Islands County, bounded by a line commencing at the con-
fluence of the Nairn River and the Mangape Creek and
proceeding north-easterly and northerly generally along the
south-eastern and eastern boundaries respectively of Central
Riding as defined in New Zealand Gazette of 28 May 1925 at
page 1711; thence north-easterly and south-easterly respec-
tively along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries
respectively of Northern Riding, defined as aforesaid, to the
sea; thence southerly, easterly, again southerly and south-
westerly generally along high-water mark of the sea to the
easternmost corner of Otonga No. 1 Block, Sub. 14; thence
northerly along the eastern boundaries of the last-named
subdivision, Otonga No. 1, Sub. 13, and Otonga No. 1E 4B
Block to the place of commencement, together with Pitt and
other outlying islands.
