St. Leonards Ward

All the part of the Borough of West Harbour not included in the Rothesay Ward, as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the Survey Office, Dunedin.

I hereby certify the above to be a correct copy of a special order altering the boundaries of the wards of the Borough of West Harbour as passed at a meeting of the Council on 9 June 1953 and confirmed at a special meeting of the Council on 14 July 1953.

Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 10) 1953

PURSUANT to regulation 15 of the Import Control Regulations 1938,* the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 10) 1953.
    (2) This notice shall come into force on the 4th day of September 1953.

  2. Goods of the class specified in the First Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, other than the countries specified in the Second Schedule hereto, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.

Notice Respecting Tariff Inquiry on Cotton Wool

IT is hereby notified that the report made by the Board of Trade pursuant to the Board of Trade Notice 48.* respecting the rates of import duty imposed under Tariff item 134 (3) (b) on cotton wool, has been considered by the Government and it has been decided not to amend the duties at present imposed on such goods.

Varying a Notice Declaring Parts of the Arawa No. 1 Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, the Minister of Maori Affairs, hereby varies the notice dated the 21st day of February 1948, and published in the New Zealand Gazette "n 26 February 1948, at page 323, declaring parts of the Arawa No. 1 Tribal District to be tribal committee areas for the purposes of the said Act, by substituting for the description of the Manoeka Tribal Committee Area appearing in the Schedule thereto, the descriptions appearing in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

ARAWA No. 1 TRIBAL DISTRICT

Manoeka No. 1 Tribal Committee Area

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Section 1, Block IV, Te Tumu Survey District, being a point on the sea-coast; thence south-easterly along the sea-coast to the north-eastern corner of Section 1 aforesaid; thence southerly along the western boundary of Tumu Kaituna No. 1 Block in Block V, Te Tumu Survey District. to the south-western corner of that block; thence due east along a right line t" the middle of the Kaituna River; thence up the middle of the Kaituna River and the Waiari River to its intersection with the middle of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway; thence westerly along the middle of that railway to the Te Puke Railway Station and a right line in the direction of Trig. Station J3 in Section 20, Block I, Maketu Survey District, to its intersection with a right line between Trig. Station Otara on the northern boundary "f Block V, Maketu Survey District, and Trig. Station K in Block IV, Te Tumu Survey District; thence north-easterly along the last-mentioned right line t" Trig. Station K, aforesaid, and a right line t" the north-western corner of Section 1, being the point of commencement.

Manoeka No. 2 Tribal Committee Area

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the middle of the Waiari River and the middle of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway; thence up the middle of the Waiari River to its intersection with a right line between the north-western corner of Section 2, Block XI, Waihi South Survey District, and Trig. Station 1039 (Otanewainuku) in Block XVI., Otanewainuku Survey District; thence westerly along that line to Trig. Station 1039 (Otanewainuku) aforesaid; thence north-westerly along a right line to the northernmost corner of Section 3, Block XVI, Otanewainuku Survey District; thence north-easterly along a right line to the southernmost corner of Waitaha Block in Block V, Maketu Survey District, along a right line " Trig. Station Otara Block V aforesaid, and along a right line in the direction of Trig. Station K, Block IV, Te Tumu Survey District, to its intersection with a right line between Trig. Station J3 in Section 26, Block I, Maketu Survey District, and the Te Puke Railway Station; thence easterly along the last-mentioned right line to Te Puke Railway Station and along the middle of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway to its intersection with the middle of the Waiari River, being the point of commencement.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation i of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver's licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in Column 2 "f the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
