Pursuant to section 31 of the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Act 1952, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby vests the control of the scenic reserves described in the Schedule hereto (being lands subject to the Scenery Preservation Act 1908) in the Ohakune Domain Board, such reserves to be administered in accordance with the provisions of the Scenery Preservation Act 1908, and the regulations made thereunder.

Merging Town District of Johnsonville in City of Wellington and Altering Boundaries of City of Wellington and County of Makara

His Excellency THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Whereas the Local Government Commission, pursuant to section 14 of the Local Government Commission Act 1946, has made inquiry into the local government of the Town District of Johnsonville and of certain areas in the County of Makara :
And whereas, pursuant to the said Act, the Local Government Commission has approved as final a scheme bearing date the 14th day of July 1950, providing for the merger of the Town District of Johnsonville in the City of Wellington, and for the exclusion of the areas described in the Second Schedule to the said scheme from the County of Makara and the inclusion of such areas in the City of Wellington upon the merger of the said town district in the said city :
And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final scheme as hereinafter appearing :
Now, therefore, pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1946, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares :-

1. That as on and from the 1st day of April 1953, the Town District of Johnsonville shall be merged in the City of Wellington.
2. That all valuation rolls, electors lists, electors rolls, and rate-books in force in the Johnsonville Town District on the date aforesaid shall continue in force and be deemed to form part of the valuation rolls, electors lists, electors rolls, and rate-books in force in the City of Wellington until new valuation rolls, electors lists, electors rolls, and rate-books are made for the said city.
3. That all property and the control of any land or thing vested at the date aforesaid in the Corporation or Town Board of the Johnsonville Town District shall on that date be vested in the Corporation and the Council respectively of the City of Wellington, and all liabilities and engagements of the Corporation of the said town district, and all proceedings pending by or against the said Corporation, shall respectively be liabilities and engagements of, and proceedings to be carried on by or against the Corporation of the said city.
4. That one member of the Johnsonville Town Board, to be chosen by the said Board, shall, on the date aforesaid, be a Councillor of the City of Wellington until the Councillors elected at the first triennial election of Councillors after the date aforesaid come into office.
5. That upon the merger of the said town district in the said city on the date aforesaid, the areas described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Makara and included in the City of Wellington.
6. That the alteration of boundaries of the said city and the said county hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1933.
   SCHEDULE
   AREAS EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF MAKARA AND INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF WELLINGTON
   All that area in the Makara Riding of the Makara County, situate in Block XI, Belmont Survey District, containing 18 acres, more or less, bounded by a line, commencing at a point, being the south-western corner of Section 4, Block I, Hawtrey Settlement ; thence proceeding northerly along the western side of Section 4, Block I, aforesaid, to the north-western corner of that Section ; thence due east by a right line to the middle of Wakefield Road ; thence southerly generally along the middle of Wakefield Road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 5, Block I, Hawtrey Settlement ; thence by a right line to the westernmost corner of that Section, being also a point on the northern boundary of the Town District of Johnsonville as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 98 of 12 September 1940, at page 2308 ; thence southerly and westerly generally along the boundary of the Town District of Johnsonville as described aforesaid to the point of commencement.
   Also all that area in the Makara Riding of the Makara County, situate in Blocks XI and XII, Belmont Survey District, and containing 105 acres, more or less, bounded by a line, commencing at a point on the northern boundary of the Town District of Johnsonville as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 98 of 12 September 1940, at page 2308, being the intersection of the north-western boundary of Section 5, Block I, Hawtrey Settlement, with the western side of Ohariu Road, and proceeding northerly along the western side of Ohariu Road to a point in line with the western side of Wingfield Street ; thence to and along the western side of Wingfield Street to a point north-west of the northernmost corner of Section 1, Block II, Hawtrey Settlement ; thence by a right line to that corner ; thence southerly generally along the eastern boundaries of Sections 1 to 7 inclusive, Block II, Hawtrey Settlement, to the southern boundary of the last-mentioned Section ; thence north-easterly generally along the southern boundary of Section 1, Block III, Hawtrey Settlement, to the western boundary of Section 4, Block III aforesaid ; thence northerly and easterly generally along the western and northern boundaries of Section 4 and the northern boundary of Section 6, Block III, aforesaid, to the western side of Hawtrey Terrace ; thence north-easterly and south-easterly generally along the western side of Hawtrey Terrace and southern side of Sections 2 and 3, Block III, aforesaid, to the western side of Bassett Road ; thence north-easterly generally along that side to a point due north of the south-western corner of Section 8, Paparangi Settlement ; thence due south to that point and south-easterly and north-easterly along the southern and eastern boundaries of Section 8 aforesaid, to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 7, Paparangi Settlement ; thence to and along the southern boundary aforesaid and its production easterly across Aurora Road to the eastern side of Aurora Road aforesaid ; thence southerly generally along that side of Aurora Road aforesaid to its intersection with the northern boundary of Section 25, Paparangi Settlement ; thence easterly and southerly generally along the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 25, Paparangi Settlement, and the eastern boundary of Section 27, Paparangi Settlement, and its production to the southern side of Konini Road ; thence westerly generally along that side to a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 8 on Plan 9900 deposited in the Land Registry Office at Wellington ; thence southerly generally on a bearing of 171° 12' for a distance of 250 links ; thence westerly and southerly generally by right lines parallel with and distant 250 links from the south-eastern side of Aurora Road to the southern boundary of Section 29, Paparangi Settlement, being a point on the northern boundary of the Town District of Johnsonville described as aforesaid ; thence westerly, northerly, and westerly generally along the northern boundary of the Town District of Johnsonville to the point of commencement.
   Also all that area in the Makara Riding of the Makara County, situate in Blocks XI and XII, Belmont Survey District, containing 544 acres, more or less, bounded by a line, commencing at a point on the southern side of Rewarewa Road, being also the southern boundary of Paparangi Settlement, in line with the western boundary of Lot 3 on the plan numbered 13908, deposited in the Land Registry Office at Wellington ; and proceeding northerly to and along that boundary and north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Lot 2 on the plan numbered 13908, deposited as aforesaid, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the eastern side of Aurora Road ; thence northerly generally along that eastern side to the northern boundary of Section 40, Paparangi Settlement ; thence easterly along that northern boundary for a distance of 350 links ; thence southerly generally by right lines parallel with and distant 250 links from the eastern side of Aurora Road to the northern boundary of the land shown on the plan numbered 13687, deposited as aforesaid ; thence easterly generally along the northern and eastern boundaries of the land on that plan to the northern side of Horokiwi Road ; thence by a line at right angles to that northern side to the middle of that road ; thence easterly generally along the middle of that road by right lines bearing 237° distance 90 links, and bearing 110° 47' distance 330 links ; thence southerly by a line bearing 200° 47' distance 50 links to the southern side of Horokiwi Road ; thence southerly generally by right lines parallel with and distant 250 links from the eastern side of Horokiwi Road to the northern boundary of the land shown on the plan numbered 4735, deposited as aforesaid ; thence easterly and southerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of that land to the southern boundary of that land ; thence south-easterly by a right line to a point on the northern boundary of the land shown on the plan numbered 2422, deposited in the District Land Registry Office at Wellington, distant 250 links from the eastern side of Glanmire Road ; thence southerly, easterly, and southerly by right lines parallel with and distant 250 links from the eastern side of Glanmire Road and the northern side of a public road adjoining Lots 28 and 29 on the plan numbered 2205, deposited as aforesaid, to the eastern boundary of Section 10, Porirua District ;
