WEST HARBOUR BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
St. Leonards Street Loan 1951
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the
West Harbour Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on a loan of five thousand pounds, authorized
to be raised by the West Harbour Borough Council under the
above-mentioned Act for St. Leonards Street Loan (1951),
the said West Harbour Borough Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of twopence threefarthings upon the rate-
able unimproved value of all rateable property of the
special rating area comprising St. Leonards Ward, and
that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly
on the first day of October and the first day of April in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid
off.''

Carried at ordinary meeting of West Harbour Borough Council
held in Tuesday, 14 July 1953. Minute book, folio 12, page

WAIHI BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by
the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Waihi Borough
Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on a loan of £10,000 authorized to be raised
by the Waihi Borough Council under the above Act for
the purpose of refunding to the Gas Supply Account excess
expenditure incurred from that account, the said Waihi
Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of
three and one-quarter pence (31d.) in the pound (£1) upon
the rateable value on the basis of the annual value of all
rateable property in the Borough of Waihi; and that such
special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the
currency of such loan and shall be payable half-yearly on
the 1st day of September and the 1st day of March in
each and every year during the currency of the loan, being
a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid
off.''
The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of
the Council held on the 20th day of July 1953.

The Companies Act 1948
NOTICE is hereby given that the creditors of the above
company are required on or before the 15th day of
August 1953 to send their names and addresses and the
particulars of their debts and the names and addresses of
their solicitors (if any) to Sir Harry Bertram Shackleton,
Greystones, Parsons Road, Heaton, Bradford, England, the
liquidator of the said company; and, if so required by notice
in writing from the said liquidator, are personally or by
their solicitors to come in and prove their said debts or claims
at such time and place as shall be specified in such notice.
After that date all funds under the control of the liquidator
will be distributed to the beneficial shareholders of the
company, viz., the Governments concerned.

dissolved as from the 11th day of July 1953.

SPRINGS COUNTY COUNCIL
TAKING OF LAND FOR ROADS
PURSUANT to section 22 of the Public Works Act 1928
public notice is hereby given that it is proposed to
take for the purposes of public roads all those parcels of
land situated in Block III of the Leeston Survey District
containing together 1 acre 3 roods and 24 perches, or
thereabouts, being the land shown coloured in blue on a
plan deposited in the Lands and Survey Office at Christchurch
and therein numbered S.O. 8472, part of Rural Section
4830, and being part of the land comprised in certificates
of title, Volume 36, folio 184, and Volume 36, folio 185,
Canterbury Registry; and that plans of the proposed public
roads are deposited in the County Council office at Springston
and may be inspected there without fee during office hours.
Written objections to the taking of this land must be
received by the Springs County Council before the 25th
day of September 1953.

Declaration of Poll on Proposal to Adopt System of Rating
on Unimproved Value
PURSUANT to section 42 of the rating Act 1925, I
hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the
Waikanae County Township taken on the 11th day of July
1953 on the proposal that the system of rating in the said
township be on the unimproved value:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 230.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 51.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

shares has been lost.
