Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work, and Not Required for That Purpose, to be Crown Land

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948.

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 140144, coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Social Security Act 1938—Social Security Charge Payable by Companies

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 5th day of May 1953
Present:
The Right Hon. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority vested in Lieutenant General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, Security Charge Regulations 1952, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the like advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and determines that the social security charge payable by any company on its chargeable income for the income year ended on the 31st day of March 1953 shall be paid in one sum on Thursday, the 4th day of February 1954.
And, in further pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority as aforesaid, and with the advice and consent as aforesaid, His Excellency also determines that the said social security charge shall be payable at any office of the Taxes Division, Inland Revenue Department, or at any money-order post-office, and that notice to the foregoing effect shall be given by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue accordingly.

Fixing the Dates and Places for Payment of Land-tax and Income-tax

ORDER IN COUNCIL

Present:
The Right Hon. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority vested in him under the Land and Income Tax Act 1923, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and determines that the respective duties leviable under the said Act by way of land-tax and income-tax shall be paid on the days and dates set forth hereunder:—
Land Tax: For the year of assessment commencing on the 1st day of April 1953: In one sum on Monday, the 21st day of September 1953.
Income Tax: For the year of assessment commencing on the 1st day of April 1953: In one sum on Thursday, the 4th day of February 1954.
And, in further pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority aforesaid, and with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, His Excellency also determines that the said duties of land-tax and income-tax shall be payable at any office of the Taxes Division, Inland Revenue Department, or at any money-order post-office, and that notice to the foregoing effect shall be given by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue accordingly.

ORDER IN COUNCIL

Present:
The Hon. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section 90 of the Education Act 1914 as amended by section 10 of the Education Amendment Act 1952, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following Order.
ORDER

  1. This Order may be cited as the Te Awamutu College Board of Governors Order 1953.
  2. The Board of Governors to be constituted for the Te Awamutu College in accordance with section 90 of the Education Act 1914 is hereby varied so that the college shall be controlled by a Board of Governors constituted as follows:—
    (a) One member to be appointed by the South Auckland Education Board:
    (b) Six members to be elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school:
    (c) One member to be appointed by the Governor General:
    (d) One member to be appointed by the Te Awamutu Borough Council.

    Constitution of Board of Managers of Avondale Technical School

    ORDER IN COUNCIL
    At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 12th day of May 1953
    Present:
    The Hon. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
    Pursuant to the Education Act 1914, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders that the Board of Managers to be constituted for the Avondale Technical School in accordance with the regulations for Manual and Technical Instruction* shall be varied so that the Board shall consist of:—
    (a) Two managers appointed by the Governor-General:
    (b) One manager appointed by the Auckland Education Board:
    (c) One manager appointed by the Auckland City Council:
    (d) Four managers elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school:
    (e) One additional manager to be appointed by the Board of Managers itself if and when it thinks fit to make the appointment, and, with respect to the said Board of Managers hereby makes the following regulations:
    REGULATIONS
  3. These regulations may be cited as the Avondale Technical School Regulations 1953.
  4. The provisions of Part III of the regulations for Manual and Technical Instruction,* shall, with the necessary modifications apply in the election and appointment of managers of the Avondale Technical School:
    Provided that the committee of management of the Avondale Technical School may fix the date for the first election to the Board.
