SOUTH CANTERBURY CATCHMENT BOARD

In the matter of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, and the Public Works Act 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the South Canterbury Catchment Board proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the provision of a new mouth for the Orari River in the County of Geraldine—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the South Canterbury Catchment Board situate in George Street, Timaru, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary at the South Canterbury Catchment Board’s Office, George Street, Timaru.

KAWARAU RABBIT BOARD

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Kawarau Rabbit Board hereby resolves as follows:—

“That the Kawarau Rabbit Board is authorized to raise a loan of three thousand pounds (£3,000) for the purpose of purchasing a worker’s dwelling at Queenstown for the use of its employees, and that for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the said loan hereby levies a special rate of 0·046139d. per acre upon all rateable property of the Kawarau Rabbit Board District made and levied by a resolution of the Board passed on the 13th day of August 1952, and the same is hereby permanently appropriated and pledged for the purpose of securing the repayment of the principal and interest of the said loan and the payment of forty debentures issued in respect thereof.”

And that, pursuant to the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Kawarau Rabbit Board hereby resolves that the Chairman, Dickson Glendinning Jardine, and the Secretary, George Douglas Cochrane, be appointed to sign all debentures issued as securities for the Housing Loan 1952, £3,000.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE is hereby given that the Raglan County Council proposes to take the portions of land described in the First Schedule hereto for road and to stop the portions of road described in the Second Schedule hereto under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928.

A plan of the portions of land proposed to be taken for road and of the portions of road proposed to be stopped is open for public inspection at the office of the Raglan County Council, Waingaro Road, Ngaruawahia, during forty days from the date of the first publication of this notice.
