Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in the Borough of Blenheim (Notice No. Ag. 5236)

Wellington, 22 April 1952.
THE following special order, made by the Blenheim Borough Council on the 26th day of March 1952, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950.
SPECIAL ORDER
THAT the Blenheim Borough Council, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, and of all other powers in that behalf enabling it, doth hereby, by way of special order, declare that the plants mentioned and included in the Schedule hereto are noxious weeds within the Borough of Blenheim.
SCHEDULE
Barberry (Berberis vulgaris).
Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis).
Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).
Boxthorn (Lycium ferocissimum syn. Lycium horridum).
Burdock (Arctium, any species).
Californian thistle, Canadian thistle, or creeping thistle (Cirsium arvense).
Common broom (Cytisus scoparius).
Fennel ( (Foeniculum vulgare).
Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea).
Gorse (Ulex, any species).
Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacantha and Crataegus monogyna).
Hemlock (Conium maculatum).
Hoary cress (Cardaria draba syn. Lepidium draba).
Milk thistle or variegated thistle (Silybum marianum).
Nassella tussock (Nassella trichotoma).
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).
Russian knapweed (Centaurea repens).
St. John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum).
Saffron thistle (Carthamus lanatus).
Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubignosa).
Tutsan (Hypericum androsaemum).
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes).

Cancellation of Registration of Buller and Grey District Acclimatization Societies
PURSUANT to the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921–22 and the regulations made thereunder, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby cancels the registration of the following Societies:—
Buller Acclimatization Society.
Grey District Acclimatization Society.

Registration of West Coast Acclimatization Society
PURSUANT to section 23 of the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921–22 and the regulations made thereunder, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby certifies that the West Coast Acclimatization Society has been duly registered under the said Act as from the 28th day of April 1952.

PURSUANT to regulation 3 (5) of the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations 1950, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve the Halswell County Council’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Halswell County.

PURSUANT to regulation 3 (5) of the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations 1950, the Minister of Transport doth hereby alter the Featherston County Council’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Featherston County and doth hereby approve such altered classification as described in the said Schedule.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:—
A motor-driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Notice of Intention to Take Land for a Fire-station in Block X, Rangiora Survey District
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, and section 71 of the Fire Services Act 1949, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for a fire-station: and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Southbrook and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
