Situated in Block X, Rangiora Survey District (Canterbury
R.D.).

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 136866, deposited
in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
edged red.

Notice Under Companies Act, 1933

Declaring Land to be Subject to Part I of the Maori Land Amendment Act 1936 (Pihama Development Scheme)

Pursuant to Section 4 of the Maori Land Amendment Act
1936, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares the land
described in the Schedule hereto to be subject to Part I of the said
Act.


SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Aotea Maori Land Court District, known as
part Section 24, Block II, Oeo Survey District, Ngatitamahuroa
No. 4, containing 24 acres, more or less, and being all the land
comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 99, folio
124, New Plymouth Registry.

Dated at Wellington, this 22nd day of April 1952.

Board of Trade Notice No. 24—Public Inquiry Into Tariff Duties on Cigars

Board of Trade,
28 April 1952.

  1. The Board of Trade proposes to inquire into and report
    upon the question of what rate of duty should be imposed under
    Tariff Item 76, which reads as follows: “Cigars, including the
    weight of every band, wrapper, or attachment, to any cigar.”
    The present rates are:—

British Preferential—20s. per pound plus surtax at the rate
of one-twentieth of the amount of duty in respect of
goods imported from Ireland (except Northern Ireland),
Union of South Africa, India, Pakistan, and Canada.

Most Favoured Nation.—22s. per pound.

General.—24s. per pound plus surtax at the rate of one-
twentieth of the amount of duty.

  1. For the purpose of taking evidence on the review of this
    Tariff Item, the Board will hold a Public Inquiry commencing on
    Tuesday, 24 June 1952, at 10.30 a.m., in the Board Room, First
    Floor, Departmental Building, Stout Street, Wellington.

  2. Any person who intends to tender evidence should comply
    with the notes for the guidance of witnesses which have been
    approved by the Board. A copy of these notes may be perused
    at the office of any Collector of Customs or may be obtained on
    application to the undersigned.

  3. A typewritten statement of the evidence to be tendered,
    compiled in accordance with these notes of guidance, should be
    lodged with the undersigned on or before Tuesday, 17 June 1952.
    Each statement will, in general, need to be read under oath at the
    Public Inquiry by the person tendering it.
