Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Rimu Public Library Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 16th day of April 1952
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for a site for a public library :
And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in a special Board as hereinafter provided :
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 17 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby vests the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously amended or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely,

Samuel Hyndman,
Julia Inwood,
Kathleen Keenan,
Mary Elizabeth Kelly, and
Stanley William Thorpe,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Rimu Public Library Board (hereinafter referred to as "the Board"), with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:

  1. The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Wednesday, the 7th day of May 1952, at 8 o'clock p.m., in the Rimu Public Library, and thereafter the Board shall meet for the transaction of business at such time and place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.

  2. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days' notice of any such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting ; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  4. Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

  6. If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself or herself without reasonable cause from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his or her stead.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

  8. The Board shall have prepared and submitted at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the 31st day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

  9. The Board shall control the said reserve and the building erected thereon for the purposes of a public library, and shall also afford settlers and residents of Rimu and the surrounding district such facilities for meeting within the said building as may from time to time be determined by the Board : provided that the Board shall have power to fix reasonable charges for the use of the said building.

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Western Waiheke Road Board

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for accessway purposes :
And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in the Western Waiheke Road Board :
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 17 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby vests the control of the said reserve in the Western Waiheke Road Board.

SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area situated in Block I, Waiheke Survey District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 5·9 perches, more or less, being Lot 127 as shown on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under No. 22848, being part Te Huruhi No. 5A Block.

And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in the Waimate County Council :
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 17 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council hereby vests the control of the said reserve in the Waimate County Council.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

Recreation Reserve in Hawke's Bay Land District Brought Under Part II of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 34 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the reserve for recreation in the Hawke's Bay Land District described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act, and such reserve shall hereafter be known as the White Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as a public domain.
