Declaring Lands in Wellington Land District, Vested in the Wanganui Education Board as Sites for Public Schools, to be Vested in His Majesty the King

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS by subsection (6) of section 5 of the Education Lands Act 1949 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) it is provided that, notwithstanding anything contained in any other Act, the Governor-General may from time to time, by Proclamation, declare that any school-site or part of a school-site which in his opinion is no longer required for that purpose shall be vested in His Majesty; and thereupon the school-site, or part thereof, as the case may be, shall vest in His Majesty freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same, but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting the same at the date of the Proclamation:

Now, therefore, pursuant to subsection (6) of section 5 of the said Act, I, Bernard Cyril, Baron Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto, being areas vested in the Wanganui Education Board as sites for public schools shall be vested in His Majesty the King, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same, but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting the same at the date hereof.
