Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy-trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:—

A motor-driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a heavy-trade motor in the course of his employment on a farm or market garden of the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy-trade motor for any other purpose.

Exemption Under the Import Control Regulations 1938

Wellington, 12 December 1951.

PURSUANT to clause 15 of the Import Control Regulations 1938, it is hereby notified for public information that goods of the class specified in the First Schedule hereto imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country other than the countries mentioned in the Second Schedule hereto shall be exempt from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.

Exemptions Under the Import Control Regulations 1938

PURSUANT to clause 15 of the Import Control Regulations 1938, it is hereby notified for public information that goods of the classes specified in the Schedule hereto imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country shall be exempt from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.

Licensing Control Commission—Awarding Compensation to Owner

TAKE notice that, pursuant to the provisions of the Licensing Amendment Act 1948, the Commission has awarded the following amount of compensation to Richard Price Lewis as executor of the estate of Sarah Lewis, deceased, the owner, consequent upon the surrender of the accommodation licence in respect of the premises shown below:—

“Welcome Home” Hotel at Long Gully.—Richard Price Lewis, care B. P. Sheehan, Esquire, Solicitor, Ballarat Street, Queenstown, as executor of the estate of Sarah Lewis, deceased, the owner, the sum of £100.

And further take notice that no person (other than the above-named person and other than a person claiming a lien as mortgagee) shall be entitled to receive the compensation or make any claim in respect of the compensation awarded unless notice in writing of such claim, stating whether compensation is claimed by him as owner or as licensee, is lodged with the Commission within six weeks of the 13th day of December 1951, being the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette:

And further take notice that any mortgagee from an owner or licensee shall, upon giving written notice to the Commission within one month after the 13th day of December 1951 aforesaid, have a lien on the amount of the compensation payable to the mortgagor for the amount of the mortgage debt, and any interest or other charges owing to the mortgagee under or in respect of the mortgage.

Notice to Persons Affected by Applications for Licences Under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit

W. W. Johnston, Puketutu, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Puketutu.

Whakatiki Service Station, Ltd., corner of Whakatiki Street and Main Road, Upper Hutt, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from two pumps to be installed on service-station premises, corner of Whakatiki Street and Main Road, Upper Hutt.

A. B. Alford, Charleston, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on hotel premises at Charleston.

W. L. Andrews, Hinerangi Street, Te Kuiti, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Hinerangi Street, Te Kuiti.

M. W. Rae, Newmarket, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at 17A Remuera Road, Newmarket, Auckland.

Whangarei Tractor Co., Ltd., Central Avenue, Whangarei, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Central Avenue, Whangarei.

I. M. Craig and E. W. J. Young, 4 France Street, Oamaru, have applied for permission to transfer two pumps from 4 France Street to the corner of Ribble and France Streets, Oamaru, and to install one additional pump.

Alex Smith and Co. (1936), Ltd., Ranfurly, has applied for permission to transfer three pumps from Charlemont Street West to proposed new premises, corner of John and Northland Streets, Ranfurly.

E. C. Britnell, Yaldhurst Road, Christchurch, has applied for a licence to resell motor-spirit from one pump to be installed on garage premises at Yaldhurst Road, Christchurch.

Applicants and other persons considering themselves to be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should, not later than 3 January 1952, submit any written evidence and representations they may desire to tender. Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee Under the Public Trust Office Act 1908, Part II (Unclaimed Lands)

WHEREAS, I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have for the purposes of Part II of the Public Trust Office Act 1908 (relating to unclaimed lands) made due inquiry with respect to the lands described in the Schedule hereunder and the whereabouts of the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the said lands, given the notices prescribed by section 66 of that Act and have in all respects complied with the provisions of that Act pertinent thereto; and whereas the owner has not established his title to the said lands as required by that Act; I hereby give notice that the said lands are under and by virtue of that Act vested in the Public Trustee as aforesaid as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the Public Trust Office Act 1908, the value of the lands for the purposes of section 67 (d) of that Act being less than five hundred pounds (£500).

SCHEDULE

ALL that parcel of land containing 32 perches (32 p.), more or less, being Town Allotment 220, Block XVII, Township of Normanby, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 3, folio 52 (Taranaki Registry), and being all the land comprised in Transfer No. 394, dated the 12th day of July 1877, from William Odgers to Vernon Lipman Willeston of Wellington, Gentleman.
