Setting Apart Maori Land as a Maori Reservation

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 12th day of December 1951

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 5 of the Maori Purposes Act 1937, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart and reserves the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the common use of the Te Rangi, Tamatatai, Pihaka, and Wehi Wehi hapus of the Raukawa Tribe as a meeting-house site.

PURSUANT to section 5 of the Maori Purposes Act 1937, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart and reserves the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the common use of the Ngapairangi Sub-tribe of the Wainuiarua Tribe as a marae and papakainga.

ALL that land in the Wellington Land District containing 2 acres, more or less, being part of the land known as Kaiwhaiki 1a situated in Block X of the Waipakura Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.A. 21/3/245, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Maori Affairs at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 12th day of December 1951

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become Government road.

Amending an Order in Council Appointing Five Non-elective Members of the Hawke’s Bay Catchment Board

PURSUANT to the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941 and section 7 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Amendment Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the Order in Council dated the 3rd day of August 1949 and published in the Gazette of the 4th day of August 1949, at page 1625, appointing five non-elective members of the Hawke’s Bay Catchment Board by deleting

Senior Pedologist, Soil Bureau, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Hastings :

and substituting

Geologist, Geological Survey Division, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Napier.

Foreshore Licence: Oparau—Oparau River—Landing-stage and Goods-shed—Kawhia County Council

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of December 1951

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby license and permit the Kawhia County Council (hereinafter called the Council, which term shall include its successors and assigns, unless the context requires a different construction) to use and occupy parts of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Oparau, in the Oparau River, as shown on plans marked M.D. 3384 and 3408 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of maintaining a landing-stage and goods-shed thereon as shown on the said plans, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the Council upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

CONDITIONS

  1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, as far as applicable, apply hereto.
  2. The annual sum payable by the Council to the Minister shall be one shilling (1s.) payable on demand.
  3. The term of the licence shall be fourteen years from the 20th day of September 1951.
  4. The master of every vessel discharging ballast at the said wharf shall have all such ballast taken away and deposited above high-water mark, or at such place as may be approved by the Minister or by any person appointed by the Minister for that purpose.
