SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less,
being Lot 1 as shown on a plan deposited in the Land Registry
Office at Invercargill under No. 2370, being part Section 16, Block I,
Lindhurst Hundred. Subject to the reservations and conditions
imposed by section 59 of the Land Act 1948, and subject also to the
reservations imposed by section 8 of the Coal Mines Amendment
Act 1950.

Withdrawing Land from the Operation of the Kauri-gum Industry
Act 1908

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 28th day of
November 1951
Present:
His Excellency The Governor-General in Council
WHEREAS by section 178 of the Land Act 1948 it is enacted
that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, on the
recommendation of the Land Settlement Board, declare that any
land comprised. in a kauri-gum reserve shall, from a date to be
specified in the Order, cease to be subject to the Kauri-gum Industry
Act 1908, and on and after the date so specified, the land to which
the Order relates shall become Crown land, subject to the provisions
of the Land Act 1948:
And whereas the Land Settlement Board has recommended
that portion of the Opoe Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2, as
described in the Schedule hereto, be excepted from the operation
of the Kauri-gum Industry Act 1908, and it is expedient to give
effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 178 of the Land Act 1948,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and
declares that portion of the Opoe Kauri-gum Reserve Extension
No. 2, as described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from the 1st day
of January, 1952, cease to be subject to the Kauri-gum Industry
Act 1908.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area situated in Blocks VIII, Opoe, and I, Ahipara Survey
Districts, containing 2,640 acres and 1 perch, more or less, being
part of Rotoroa Kauri-gum Reserve Extension, vide Gazette 1899,
page 1302, included therein areas now known as Section 4, Block I,
Ahipara Survey District, Sections 30 and 47 of Block VIII, Opoe
Survey District: Bounded generally towards the north by the
abutment of Ninety-mile Beach Road, Section 10 of the Town of
Muriwhenua, the abutment of Rata Street, Sections 5, 4, 3, 2, 11,
1, 59, 60, 61, 62, 82, 83, and 84 of the Town of Muriwhenua afore-
said, and by Ngatu Road, towards the east generally by Sections 12,
2, 3, 4, 28, and 48 of Block VIII, Opoe Survey District aforesaid,
Allotments 19 and 20 of the Parish of Awanui, the abutment of a
public road, Allotment 63 of the aforesaid parish, the north-western
side of another public road being the south-eastern boundary of
Section 4, Block I, Ahipara Survey District aforesaid, the abut-
ment of the said public road, Section 5 of Block I aforesaid, the
western side of a public road adjoining Allotment 22 of the afore-
said parish and Section 26, Block I aforesaid, Sections 26, 9, 10, 11,
12, and 13 of Block I aforesaid, and by the western side of a public
road, towards the south by Allotment 44 of the Ahipara Parish and
towards the west by the Tasman Sea. As the same is more parti-
cularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/75/9, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
and thereon edged red.

Officer Authorized to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by section 301
of the Justices of the Peace Act 1927, I, Lieutenant-General
Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that Percy Alfred
Maynard, being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the
office of Field Administration Officer, Rehabilitation Department,
at Dunedin, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations
under section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act 1927.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 19th day of November 1951.

Lands Reserved in the North Auckland, Hawke's Bay, Wellington,
and Canterbury Land Districts

WHEREAS by section 167 of the Land Act 1948 it is enacted
that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart
as a reserve, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under
pastoral lease or pastoral occupation licence, any Crown land for
any purpose which, in his opinion, is desirable in the public interest
and notice thereof shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette :
Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril
Freyberg, the Governor-General of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the
said Act, hereby reserve, subject to the reservations and conditions
imposed by section 59 of the Land Act 1948, and subject also to
the reservations imposed by section 8 of the Coal Mines Amendment
Act 1950, the lands in the North Auckland, Hawke's Bay, Wellington,
and Canterbury Land Districts, described in the Schedule hereunder
written, for the purposes specified at the end of respective descrip-
tions of the lands so intended to be reserved.
