PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the land described in the Schedule hereto, being taken for housing purposes.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land permitted to be taken: 3 acres 1 rood 23·33 perches.
Being part Lot 2, D.P. 715, being part Section 17.
Situated in Block VIII, Mangahao Survey District, Borough of Pahiatua. (S.O. 22133.)
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 133177, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.

Boundaries of Borough of Whangarei and County of Whangarei Altered

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 31st day of January, 1951
Present:
THE HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, in pursuance of section 139 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying that a certain area be excluded from the County of Whangarei and included in the Borough of Whangarei:
And whereas, in pursuance of section 24 of the Local Government Commission Act, 1946, the said petition was referred to the Local Government Commission:
And whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of the said Act, the Local Government Commission has approved as final a scheme bearing date the 22nd day of December, 1950, providing for the exclusion of the area described in the Schedule to the said scheme from the County of Whangarei and the inclusion of such area in the Borough of Whangarei:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final scheme as hereinafter appearing:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Local Government Commission Act, 1946, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby declare that as on and from the 1st day of February, 1951, the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Whangarei and included in the Borough of Whangarei, and, with the like advice and consent doth hereby declare that the alteration of boundaries of the said County and the said Borough hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933.

SCHEDULE
AREA EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF WHANGAREI AND INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF WHANGAREI
ALL that area, being portion of the Manaiā Riding of the County of Whangarei in the North Auckland Land District, situated in Block IX, Whangarei Survey District, containing 2·9 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the north-eastern side of Port Whangarei Road with the north-western side of the channel, as shown on the plan numbered 27863, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland, and running north-easterly generally along the boundary of the Borough of Whangarei, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 74, of the 8th day of December, 1949, page 2793, being along the north-western side of the aforesaid channel to its intersection with a right line parallel to and distant 180·3 links north-west from that portion of the north-eastern side of Port Whangarei Road, bearing 280° 58′ 40″, as shown on the plan numbered 28103, lodged as aforesaid; thence easterly generally along the aforesaid right line to the western boundary of Okara Block; thence south-easterly and westerly generally along the boundaries of the Borough of Whangarei described as aforesaid, to the point of commencement.

Altering and Redefining the Boundaries of the Waimatua Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 4951)

THE HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by section 31 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General, at the request of the Board of any Rabbit District, may, by Order in Council, alter and redefine the boundaries of its district:
And whereas the district known as the Waimatua Rabbit District has been constituted under and for the purposes of the said Act:
And whereas the Board of the said district has, pursuant to the said section 31 of the said Act, requested that the boundaries of its district be altered and redefined by excluding an area therefrom:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district accordingly:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby—
(1) Alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district so constituted as aforesaid; and
(2) Declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.

BOUNDARIES OF THE WAIMATUA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the County of Southland, Southland Land District, containing by estimation 58,660 acres, more or less, inclusive of roads, railways, and streams, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the junction of the Gore–Invercargill State Highway with Rockdale Road, Block II, Invercargill Hundred; thence generally in a north-easterly direction along the south-eastern side of the said Gore–Invercargill State Highway, to its junction with Evans Road, Block VI, Invercargill Hundred; thence generally in a southerly direction along the western side of Evans Road, to the left bank of the Waihopai River, through Section 30, Block VIII, Invercargill Hundred; thence generally in an easterly direction along the left bank of the Waihopai River to the Woodlands South Main Highway; thence southerly along the western side of the Woodlands South Main Highway to its junction with the Kennington–Waikawa Main Highway; thence south-easterly along the south-western side of the Kennington–Waikawa Main Highway, to Mokotua Main Highway; thence generally in a southerly direction along the western side of the Mokotua Main Highway to its junction with the Invercargill–Fortrose Main Highway; thence south-easterly and easterly along the northern side of the Invercargill–Fortrose Main Highway, to the Kapuka Road; thence south-easterly along the southern side of the Invercargill–Tokanui Railway Reserve, to the north-eastern corner of the western part of Section 34, Block IX, Oteramika Hundred; thence easterly by a right line across a railway reserve, to the north-western corner of the eastern part of Section 34, Block IX, aforesaid; thence easterly along the southern side of the Invercargill–Tokanui Railway Reserve, to the right bank of the Matarua River; thence southerly along the right bank of the Matarua River, to a point in line with the northern boundary of Block XIV, Oteramika Hundred; thence westerly across Holtz Road and along the northern boundary of the said Block XIV to the north-western corner thereof; thence southerly along the western boundary of the said Block XIV, to the north-eastern corner of Block XIII, Oteramika Hundred; thence westerly along the northern boundary of the said Block XIII, to the eastern boundary of Block V, Oteramika Hundred; thence northerly and westerly along eastern and northern boundaries of the said Block V, and across a public road, to the eastern boundary of Campbelltown Hundred; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of Campbelltown Hundred, to the south-eastern corner of Section 66, Block IX, Campbelltown Hundred; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of the said Section 66 and Section 65, a public road, Sections 64 and 63, to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence in a south-westerly direction by a right line to the northern side of a public road forming the northern boundary of Section 66, Block VIII, Campbelltown Hundred, and the north-eastern corner thereof; thence in a westerly direction along the said public road forming the northern boundary of Section 66, aforesaid, and Sections 14, 13, 11, and 12, Block VIII, aforesaid; thence in a south-westerly direction along the aforesaid public road forming the north-western boundary of Sections 12 and 1, Block VIII, and Sections 1, 48, and 14, Block III, Campbelltown Hundred, to its junction with another public road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 45, Block III, aforesaid; thence in a north-westerly direction along the north-eastern side of the said Section 45, and Sections 15, 16, and 30A, to and across the Invercargill–Bluff State Highway to the Invercargill–Bluff Railway Reserve; thence in a north-easterly, northerly, and north-westerly direction along the said Invercargill–Bluff Railway Reserve to a point in line with the southern boundary of the Borough of South Invercargill; thence in north-easterly, south-easterly, and easterly directions to the south-eastern corner of the said Borough; thence in a northerly direction generally along Rochdale Road to the point of commencement.
