ORAKEI TIMBER COMPANY, LIMITED

IN LIQUIDATION

TAKE notice that a general meeting of the above company will be held at the office of the liquidator, 14 Galway Street, Onehunga near Auckland, on Wednesday, the 27th day of June, 1951, at 2.30 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of laying before the meeting the final account of the winding-up and giving an explanation thereof.

ROXBURGH BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Roxburgh Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of seven thousand pounds (£7,000) to be known as the ‘Water Extension Loan 1950’ and authorized to be raised by the Roxburgh Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing a permanent augmentation and extension of the Borough water supply, the said Roxburgh Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine and three-fifths pence (9⅗d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property within the Borough of Roxburgh, comprising the whole of the Borough of Roxburgh; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 15th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a meeting of Roxburgh Borough Council held on the 29th day of May, 1951.

HOKITIKA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Hokitika Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of fifty-two thousand pounds (£52,000), authorized to be raised by the Hokitika Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for water-works including the installation of a watermain from Lake Kanieri to the Hokitika Borough water-reticulation system, the construction of a new water reservoir and the lining of the existing water reservoir, the said Hokitika Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of six and three-eighths pence (6⅜d.) in the pound (on the basis of the unimproved value) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Hokitika, comprising the whole of the Borough of Hokitika; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I, Arnold Edward Perry, Mayor of the Borough of Hokitika, certify the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Hokitika Borough Council on the 31st day of May, 1951, making and levying a special rate in pursuance of section 21 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Security for Electricity Distribution Loan, 1950, £100,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £100,000 authorized to be raised by the Dunedin City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the works for which the Electricity Distribution Loan, 1946, £280,000, was authorized—viz., the provision of new feeder cables between the substations at Halfway Bush, Ward Street, and Neville Street, and the construction of the Neville Street substation, the said Dunedin City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny (1d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value, on the basis of the annual value, of all rateable property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the said city; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first (1st) day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of the resolution passed by the Dunedin City Council on Monday, the 21st day of May, 1951.

BOROUGH OF NEWMARKET

RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and amendments thereto, the Newmarket Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“1. That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £21,500 authorized to be raised by the Newmarket Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of carrying out certain streets and parks improvements in the Borough, the Newmarket Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of threepence (3d.) in the pound (£) on the annual rateable value of all the rateable property in the Borough of Newmarket, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable on the first day of August in each year during the currency of the loan, being for a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

“2. That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £4,000 authorized to be raised by the Newmarket Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the spectators’ stand on the western side of the Olympic Pool and installing suitable equipment for heating the water in the pool, the Newmarket Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-half penny (½d.) in the pound (£) on the annual rateable value of all the rateable property in the Borough of Newmarket, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable on the first day of August in each year during the currency of the loan, being for a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
