FIRST SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE AREA TO BE ADDED TO THE ALBURY RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the County of Levels, Canterbury Land District, containing approximately 1,750 acres, commencing at a point on the eastern boundary of the Albury Rabbit District (New Zealand Gazette No. 57, 29th September, 1949, page 2381), the said point being at the intersection of the road forming the eastern boundary of Rural Section 21103 and the road passing through Rural Sections 18877 and 18876, Block I, Pareora Survey District; thence in a south-easterly direction along the last-mentioned road to the Sterndale Valley Road on the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 18020 ; thence south-westerly along that road to its intersection with Maze Road at the south-eastern corner of Rural Section 5434, and being a point on the said Albury Rabbit District, thence generally westerly and northerly along that rabbit district boundary to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE ALBURY RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Counties of Waimate, Mackenzie, and Levels, Canterbury Land District, containing approximately 125,450 acres, commencing at a point at the confluence of the Rivers Opihi and Ophua; thence in a south-easterly direction down the centre of the Opihi River to a point opposite the Three Mile Bush Road, Block XIV, Opihi Survey District; thence to and along that road in a south-westerly direction to the south-west boundary of Rural Section 18519; thence along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of that section, the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 21103, and the north-western and south-western boundaries of Rural Section 20111 to a road on the eastern boundary of Rural Section 21103; thence in a southerly direction along that road to its intersection with the road passing through Rural Sections 18877 and 18876, Block I, Pareora Survey District; thence in a south-easterly direction along the last-mentioned road to the Sterndale Valley Road on the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 18020; thence south-westerly along that road, to and along the road on the southern side of Rural Section 19624, to and along Clellands Road on the east side of Rural Section 18372, to and along Zig Zag Road on the east side of Rural Section 18663, across the River Tengawai to Fairlie Road; thence westerly along that road passing by Cave Railway-station to Mackenzie County Boundary (New Zealand Gazette No. 97, 23rd November, 1911, page 3509); thence following that boundary in a southerly and westerly direction to the Cannington Bridge; thence generally north-westerly along the Cannington Road to Gorge Road; thence along that road in a north-westerly direction to the River Pareora at the Upper Pareora Bridge; thence generally in a south-westerly and north-westerly direction by the boundary of the Mackenzie County to the north-west corner of Section 10, Mount Nessing Settlement; thence in a north-westerly direction along the south-western boundaries of Sections 8 and 2, Mount Nessing Settlement, and along the boundary of the Albury Riding to the northernmost extremity of Rural Section 36218 (Block XIII, Tengawai Survey District); thence generally easterly along the middle of the Tengawai River to the road intersecting Sections 23, 24, 25, and 26, Albury Settlement; thence south-easterly along that road to the Mackenzie County Boundary; thence northerly and easterly by that boundary to the confluence of the Rivers Opihi and Opuha, the point of commencement.

Authorizing Allan George Jones, of Koiterangi, Farmer, to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of May, 1951

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby grant to Allan George Jones, of Koiterangi, Farmer (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), a licence subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to take and use from a spring situated in part Section 982, Block II, Toaroha Survey District, in the Land District of Westland, for the purposes hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding 3·5 cubic feet per second at any one time.

CONDITIONS
  1. IMPLIED CONDITIONS

The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Water-power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

  1. LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS

This licence is issued under the Water-power Regulations 1934, and is subject thereto and to the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, and the Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and to any regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.

3. UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS

Water shall be used under this licence solely for the purpose of generating electricity, and shall be taken from the said spring at the point in part Section 982, Block II, Toaroha Survey District, as indicated on the plan marked S.H.D. 74, deposited in the office of the Minister in Charge of the State Hydro-electric Department.

4. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

The licensee is hereby authorized, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this licence, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan S.H.D. 74 :-

(a) Water-race leading to the water wheel and power-house hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 14 ft. :

(b) Water-wheel and power-house with all necessary equipment for generating electricity, situated in part Section 982, Block II, Toaroha Survey District :

(c) Tail-race leading from the said power-house to an unnamed stream situated in the said part Section 982.

5. DURATION OF LICENCE

This licence, unless sooner determined, shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1972.

6. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of clause 21-0I of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, and shall be direct current.

7. RENTAL

For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this licence, the licensee may install a suitable maximum-demand indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer of the State Hydro-electric Department; and failing such installation, the rental shall be determined on the maximum capacity of the generating plant installed. The present plant is rated at 2 kilowatts.

8. NO RIGHT TO WATER CONFERRED

This licence shall not of itself confer upon the licensee any right to water.

Authorizing the Purchase by the Hutt Valley Electric-power Board of Certain Electric Works From the Minister in Charge of the State Hydro-electric Department

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of May, 1951

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 76 of the Electric Power Boards Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize the purchase by the Hutt Valley Electric-power Board, from the Minister in Charge of the State Hydro-electric Department, of the electric works described in the Schedule hereto for the sum of £3,000.

SCHEDULE

THE 11,000 volt, four circuit transmission line leading from the State Hydro-electric Department's substation at Khandallah to a five-pole structure situated on the Hutt Road at a point approximately 6½ chains due west from the point at which the Korokoro Stream crosses under the said road.

PURSUANT to section 31 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1948, and section 125 of the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize the Stratford Borough Council to permit the laying-off of the proposed street described in the Schedule hereto at a width for a part of its length of less than 66 feet, but not less than 50 feet, subject to the condition that no building or part
