Directing Sale of Railway Land at Fordell Under the Public Works Act,
1928, Subject to a Certain Reservation

At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of
May, 1951.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby direct the sale of the land described in the
Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the public
work for which it was taken, reserving, however, to His Majesty the
King, full and free liberty, right, license, and authority in perpetuity
to construct, use, and maintain a water-pipe line across that portion
of Section 248, Left Bank Wanganui River, containing an area of
1 perch and shown coloured sepia on the plan referred to in the
Schedule hereto, together with the right of His Majesty’s agents and
servants to enter on the said land from time to time and at all
reasonable times to repair or renew the said pipe.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by subsection (1) (b) of section 7 of the Public
Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the reservation for a water-
supply reserve over the land described in the Schedule hereto ;
and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in
the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the Land
Act, 1948.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area situated in Block IX, Belmont Survey District,
containing by admeasurement 2·84 perches, more or less, being the
part marked “ Water Supply Reserve ” on a plan deposited in the
Land Registry Office at Wellington under No. 8703, and being part
Section 54, Hutt District. As the same is more particularly delineated
on the plan marked L. and S. 6/1/836, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged
red.

Constitution of Rural Fire District

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of
May, 1951

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1947, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute
and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a rural
fire district, to be known as the “ Tangoio Rural Fire District ” ; and
doth hereby specify the trees and other plants on soil-conservation
reserves and scenic reserves adjoining the Napier-Wairoa Main
Highway and other lands of the Crown in the said area as the
property for the protection of which the district is constituted ;
and doth hereby specify the period between the 1st day of October
in any one year and the 30th day of April in the following year
(both days inclusive) as a closed fire season in the said district ;
and doth hereby declare that this Order in Council shall come into
force and that the Tangoio Rural Fire District shall become a rural
fire district on the day following publication of this Order in Council
in the New Zealand Gazette ; and doth hereby prescribe that the
said Tangoio Rural Fire District shall be administered for the
purposes of the said Act by the Minister of Forests.

HAWKES’ BAY LAND DISTRICT.—WELLINGTON CONSERVANCY
Tangoio Rural Fire District

ALL that area in the Hawkes’ Bay Land District, Hawkes’ Bay
County, containing approximately 6,000 acres, situated in Block
XVI, Maungaharuru Survey District, and Block IV, Puketapu
Survey District, and bounded generally as follows : Towards the
north by Section 2, Block XVI aforesaid ; towards the north-east
by the left bank of the Waikoau River ; towards the east generally
by Section 1, Block XIII, Moeanangi Survey District, and Section
10, Block I, Tangoio Survey District ; towards the south-east
by the crossing of the Tangoio Settlement Road, Section 6, Block
IV aforesaid, and by a right line from a point being the junction
of Sections 4, 5, and 6, Block IV aforesaid ; to an iron pipe at an
altitude of 900 ft., at map reference N.Z.M.S. I—Sheet N. 124 ;
314619 approximately ; thence by the crest of the leading ridge
to the confluence of the Te Ngaru and Kareaara Streams and by the
crossing of the aforesaid streams and the Napier-Gisborne via
Hangaroa State Highway ; towards the north-west generally by
the south-western side of the aforesaid State highway and by the
right bank of the Te Ngaru Stream ; towards the west generally
by Sections 4 and 3, Block III, Puketapu Survey District, and
Sections 7 and 5, Block XV, Maungaharuru Survey District, and
towards the north-west and south-west by Section 1, Block XVI,
aforesaid. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan
No. 74/1, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest
Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered in red.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the Nelson City Council (hereinafter called the said
local authority) being desirous of raising a loan of two
thousand pounds (£2,000) to be known as “ St. John Ambulance
Hall Loan, 1951 ” (hereinafter called the said loan), for the purpose
of meeting portion of the cost of purchasing, removing, re-erecting,
renovating and repairing a building to be used by the St. John
Ambulance Association, has complied with the provisions of the
Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called the
said Act), and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the
Governor-General in Council, as required by the said Act, should be
given to the raising of the said loan :
