  2. The premium payable by the company shall be five pounds (£5) and the annual sum so payable shall be three pounds (£3).

  3. The term of the licence shall be fourteen years from the 1st day of May, 1951.

THE HON. W. SULLIVAN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act, 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby license and permit Lane and Sons (Limited) (hereinafter called the company, which term shall include its successors and assigns, unless the context requires a different construction), to use and occupy parts of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Whangaroa, in Whangaroa Harbour, as shown on plans marked M.D. 2229A and 2251, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of maintaining a sawmill and shed thereon as shown on the said plans, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the company upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the licensees, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council dated the 15th day of December, 1931, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 24th day of the same month at page 3579, authorizing John Trembrath, James Trembrath, and William Trembrath, of Waitaha, Farmers, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity and to erect certain electric lines.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that George Herbert Kitto, being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the office of Resident Officer, State Advances Corporation, at Palmerston North, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

Increasing Number of Days on Which Charges May be Made for Admission to the Taumarunui and Rangaroa Domain

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section 23 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby increase the number of days which may be prescribed by the Taumarunui and Rangaroa Domain Board as days upon which charges may be made, pursuant to section 21 of the said Act, for admission to the domain described in the Schedule hereto, or to any part thereof set apart for a particular purpose, from twenty days to thirty days during the year ending the 31st day of March, 1952.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TAUMARUNUI AND RANGAROA DOMAIN

ALL those areas in the Taumarunui Borough and the Taumarunu County, situated in Block I, Piopiotea Survey District, and Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District, containing by admeasurement a total of 179 acres 3 roods 33·6 perches, more or less, being Sections 3, 16, and 58, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District; Section 1, Block X, Taumarunui Maori Township; Section 11 and part Section 9, Block V, Village of Rangaroa; and Section 12, Block VI, Village of Rangaroa.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 16th day of May, 1951.

Cancelling the Appointment of a Member of the Main Highways Board and Appointing a Member of the Said Board

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the 5th day of October, 1937, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 67 of the 7th day of the same month at page 2273, John White Scott, Esquire, of Wellington, then Chief Accountant of the Public Works Department, was appointed to be a member of the Main Highways Board in terms of subsection 3 (b) of section 5 of the Main Highways Act, 1922:

And whereas the said John White Scott has tendered his resignation from the Main Highways Board and it is considered expedient to accept such resignation and to appoint another member in his stead:

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Main Highways Act, 1922, do hereby accept the resignation of the said John White Scott as a member of the Main Highways Board and I do hereby cancel as from the date hereof the appointment of John White Scott as a member of the said Board: And in further pursuance and exercise of the said powers and authorities I do hereby appoint as from the date hereof

Russell Leslie Neal, Esquire, of Wellington, Chief Accountant of the Ministry of Works,

to be a member of the Main Highways Board in terms of subsection 3 (b) of section 5 of the Main Highways Act, 1922.
