Present :
THE HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, at the request of the Kaiapoi Borough Council,
the Local Government Commission, in pursuance of the
provisions of the Local Government Commission Act, 1946, has
made inquiry into a proposal for an alteration of the boundaries of
the Borough of Kaiapoi and the Counties of Eyre and Rangiora :
And whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of the said Act, the
Local Government Commission has approved as final a scheme
bearing date the 19th day of March, 1951, providing for the exclusion
of the area described in the First Schedule to the said scheme from
the County of Eyre and the inclusion of such area in the Borough of
Kaiapoi, and providing for the exclusion of the areas described in
the Second Schedule to the said scheme from the County of Rangiora
and the inclusion of such areas in the Borough of Kaiapoi, and
providing for the exclusion of the area described in the Third
Schedule to the said scheme from the Borough of Kaiapoi and the
inclusion of such area in the County of Eyre, and providing also for
the exclusion of the area described in the Fourth Schedule to the
said scheme from the Borough of Kaiapoi and the inclusion of such
area in the County of Rangiora :
And whereas it is deemed expedient to give effect to the final
scheme as hereinafter appearing :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in him by the Local Government Commission Act,
1946, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that
behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby declare
that as on and from the 1st day of May, 1951, the area described in
the First Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Eyre
and included in the Borough of Kaiapoi, that the areas described in
the Second Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of
Rangiora and included in the Borough of Kaiapoi, that the area
described in the Third Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the
Borough of Kaiapoi and included in the County of Eyre, and that
the area described in the Fourth Schedule hereto shall be excluded
from the Borough of Kaiapoi and included in the County of Rangiora.
