WAIRIOA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION LEVYING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 15 of the Finance Act, 1936 (No. 2), the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and Amendments thereto, and all other Acts and powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Wairoa Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and sinking fund and other charges on the Reticulation Loan, 1950, authorized to be raised by the said Board under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of extending electric-supply lines and reticulating additional areas of the Board’s District, the Board makes and levies a special rate of one thirty-third of a penny (⅓₃d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Wairoa Electric-power Board District, comprising the County of Wairoa and the Borough of Wairoa as defined in the Proclamation proclaiming the said district appearing in the New Zealand Gazette on the 29th day of July, 1920, at page 2257, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was submitted to and duly passed at the ordinary monthly meeting of the Wairoa Electric-power Board held at its offices, Marine Parade, Wairoa, on Monday, the 9th day of April, 1951.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

NOTICE is hereby given that the Auckland City Council proposes under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a public work, namely—the provision of a service lane—and for the purpose of such work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the City Council situate at the Town Hall, Queen Street, Auckland, and is there open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who may have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the Town Hall, Queen Street, Auckland.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and all other powers (if any) it in that behalf enabling, the Havelock North Town Board hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing principal and interest repayments and other charges on a loan of £5,950 known as the “Sewerage Loan, 1950,” authorized to be raised by the Board under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the purpose of extensions, renewals, and improvements to the sewerage system within the Town Board’s district, the Havelock North Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny (1d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property in the Havelock North Town District, and that such special rate be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully repaid.”

I certify that the above resolution was passed by the Havelock North Town Board on 11th April, 1951.

PRIVATE BILL

In the matter of the Standing Orders of the General Assembly of New Zealand relative to Private Bills, and in the matter of a Private Bill intituled “An Act to Amend an Act Intituled ‘An Act to Incorporate the Proprietors of a Certain Banking Company Called “The Bank of New South Wales” and for other purposes’”.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Bank of New South Wales intends to present a petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand for the passing of the said Bill. The objects of the said Bill are to remove any doubts as to the effect of certain provisions of The Bank of New South Wales Act, 1861, relating to securities for advances and to simplify the form in which security may be taken.
