NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of section 232 of the Companies Act, 1933, a general meeting of the members of the above company will be held at noon, Thursday, 3rd May, 1951, at the offices of THE MUTUAL LIFE AND CITIZENS’ ASSURANCE COMPANY, LIMITED, M.L.C. Building, corner of Lambton Quay and Hunter Street, Wellington, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the liquidator shall be disposed of.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Raglan County Council proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the portions of land described in the First Schedule hereto for road and to stop the portions of road described in the Second Schedule hereto. A plan of the portions of land proposed to be taken and the portions of road proposed to be stopped lies open to public inspection at the office of the Raglan County Council, Waingaro Road, Ngaruawahia, during forty days from the date of the first publication of this notice. All persons objecting to the proposal must lodge their objections in writing at the office of the Council on or before the 24th day of May, 1951.

TIMARU CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Omnibus Building Loan, 1950, £12,000

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Timaru City Council hereby resolves as follows :-

“ That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on the Omnibus Building Loan, 1950, of £12,000, authorized to be raised by the Timaru City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erecting a workshop, a storage depot for omnibuses, and offices, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·140d. in the pound upon the whole amount of unimproved value of all rateable property in the whole of the City of Timaru and such special rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until such loan is fully paid off.”

BAY OF ISLANDS ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Reticulation Extension Loan No. 7 (1951), £60,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Bay of Islands Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :-

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £60,000 (sixty thousand pounds), authorized to be raised by the Bay of Islands Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing additional monies for the further reticulation of the Bay of Islands Electric-power Board District, the said Bay of Islands Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of forty-three one hundredths of one penny (43/100d.) in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property within the Bay of Islands Electric-power District ; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 2nd day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 25 (twenty-five) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
