WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

The Wellington City Employees’ Housing Loan, 1950, of £30,000

THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on Monday, the 6th day of November, 1950, viz. :—

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest, repayment of principal, and other charges on a loan of thirty thousand pounds (£30,000) to be known as the Wellington City Employees’ Housing Loan, 1950, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting workers’ dwellings, the Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nineteen eight-hundredths of a penny (¹⁹⁄₈₀₀d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty (20) years from the 1st day of May, 1951, or until the said loan is fully paid off.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

The Wellington City Suburban Libraries Loan, 1944, of £30,000

THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on Monday, the 6th day of November, 1950, viz. :—

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest, repayment of principal, and all other charges on a special loan of thirty thousand pounds (£30,000) to be known as the Wellington City Suburban Libraries Loan, 1944, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing branch libraries at Island Bay, Brooklyn, Northland, Ngaiio, and Khandallah, the Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixteen eight-hundredths of a penny (¹⁶⁄₈₀₀d.) in the pound made and levied on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years from the 1st day of June, 1951, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

BRITISH RADIOLOGICAL, LIMITED

VOLUNTARY WINDING-UP RESOLUTION

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of BRITISH RADIOLOGICAL, LIMITED.

THE following special resolution dated 4th November, 1950, has been passed under the provisions of section 300 of the Companies Act, 1933, by all the members of the above-named company :—

“ That the company be wound up voluntarily and that EDWARD LIONEL GODDARD, of Auckland, be and is hereby appointed liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”

THE WAITAKI ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

THE Waitaki Electric-power Board at its meeting on 30th October, 1950, passed the following resolution :—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Waitaki Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purposes of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,000 to be known as the Housing Loan, 1950, authorized to be raised by the Waitaki Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act and section 15 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1938, for the purpose of acquiring land, erecting dwellings, and purchasing land with dwellings thereon in pursuance of the powers conferred on the Board by subsection (1) of section 122 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, the said Waitaki Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ·0208 of a penny in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property of the said Board’s electric-power district comprising the constituent districts of Oamaru Borough, Hampden Borough, and part Waitaki County/ part Waimate County ; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off ; and that the said special rate be and the same is hereby appropriated and pledged as security for the repayment of the said loan and for the payment of interest thereon and other charges under the securities to be issued in respect of the said loan.”

HAURAKI PLAINS COUNTY

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

NOTICE is hereby given that the Hauraki Plains County Council proposes, under section 198 of the Counties Act, 1920 (as amended by section 18 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1949), and under the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—namely, to the establishment at Ngatea of a community centre comprising recreation-grounds and a public hall—and for that purpose the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. Notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the County Clerk to the said Council, situate at Ngatea, and is open for inspection by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers in Ngatea.

THE SCHEDULE

PART of section 25, Block I, Waihou Survey District, containing 18 acres 1 rood 39·5 perches, more or less, and coloured blue on survey plan prepared by Mr. R. B. Hollinger and bearing his certificate dated the 7th day of September, 1950.
