At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of September, 1950

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 104 of the Rating Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby exempt the Maori land described in the Schedule hereto from all rates made or levied by the Waitotara County Council under the said Rating Act, 1925.

Exempting Land in the South Auckland Land District From the Operation of Part III of the Coal-mines Act, 1925

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by subsection (2) of section 171 of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be exempt from the operation of Part III of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and do hereby further declare that this notice shall take effect as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area of land in the South Auckland Land District containing by admeasurement 1 rood 8 perches, more or less, situated in the Borough of Ngaruawahia, being Allotment 64 of the Town of Newcastle, and being all the land in Certificate of Title, Volume 509, folio 209, Auckland Land Registry.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 6th day of September, 1950.

Land Reserved in the Hawke’s Bay Land District

WHEREAS by section 167 of the Land Act, 1948, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart as a reserve, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral lease or pastoral occupation-licence, any Crown land for any purpose which, in his opinion, is desirable in the public interest, and notice thereof shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.

Now, therefore, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby reserve the land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for a public hall site.

SCHEDULE

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT

SECTION 16, Block VII, Oero Survey District: Area, 2 roods 16 perches, more or less. (S.O. plan 1839.)

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 12th day of September, 1950.
