Officer Authorized to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by section
301 of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Lieutenant-
General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that Jack
Cecil Bee, being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the
office of Clerk, Rehabilitation Department, at Wellington, is
authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under section
301 of the Justices of the Peace Act 1927.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 7th day of September, 1950.

Appointment of Officer for the Purpose of the Food and Drugs Act,
1947

PURSUANT to the Food and Drugs Act, 1947, I, Lieutenant-
General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
Arthur Ernest Thompson
to be an officer for the purposes of the Food and Drugs Act, 1947.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 6th day of September, 1950.

Revoking Appointment of Officer for the Purposes of the Food and Drugs
Act, 1947

PURSUANT to the Food and Drugs Act, 1947, I, Lieutenant-
General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke in so far only as
it relates to Ralph Bleakley the warrant of the 30th day of May,
1936, published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 4th day of June,
1936, at page 1085, whereby the said Ralph Bleakley was appointed
an officer for the purposes of the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, 1908.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 6th day of September, 1950.

Members of the Nurses' and Midwives' Board Appointed

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by section 4 of the Nurses and Midwives Act, 1945,
I, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Cyril Freyberg, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby reappoint:-
Dorothy Isabella Buchanan, R.N., R.M., and
Daphne Maud Heape, R.N., R.M.,
to be members of the Nurses' and Midwives' Board under the
aforesaid Act as from the lst day of September, 1950 ; and do hereby
appoint
Doris Emily Menzies, R.N., R.M., O.B.E.,
to be a member of the Nurses' and Midwives' Board under the
aforesaid Act as from the 1st day of September, 1950.
As witness the hand of his Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, this 28th day of August,
1950.

Captain R. H. Standish, 6th Light Anti-aircraft Regiment,
R.N.Z.A., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List,
The Royal N.Z. Artillery, with the rank of Captain, with seniority
from 5th June, 1943. Dated 14th August, 1950.
Lieutenant J. W. Broadley, 3rd Field Regiment, R.N.Z.A., is
transferred to the Ist Heavy Mortar Battery, R.N.Z.A., with the
rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 6th April, 1947. Dated
16th August, 1950.
THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS
Territorial Force—
Major J. R. Greenfield, M.C., 2nd Armoured Regiment,
R.N.Z.A.C., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental
List, 2nd Armoured Regiment, R.N.Z.A.C., with the rank of
Major, with seniority from 17th March, 1948. Dated 26th July
1950.
THE ROYAL N.Z. ENGINEERS
Regular Force—
Lieutenant I. Calvert resigns his commission. Dated 3lst
August, 1950.
Territorial Force—
Lieutenant D. C. Nichols, from the Reserve of Officers,
Regimental List, The Royal N.Z. Engineers, to be Lieutenant, with
seniority from 20th February, 1947, and is posted to the 2nd Field
Squadron, R.N.Z.E. Dated 17th August, 1950.
THE ROYAL N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS
Territorial Force—
Lieutenant I. B. Compton, 2nd Squadron (Composite) R.N.Z.
Sigs., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, The
Royal N.Z. Corps of Signals, with the rank of Lieutenant, with
seniority from 15th November, 1947. Dated 14th August, 1950.
THE ROYAL N.Z. INFANTRY CORPS
Regular Force—
N.Z. Regiment—
Lieutenant (temp. Captain) E. H. L. Hawkhead to be Captain.
Dated 23rd May, 1949.
Territorial Force—
The Hauraki Regiment—
Dallas Robert Kirk to be 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) and is
seconded to the Rotorua High School Cadets. Dated 1st August,
1950.
THE ROYAL N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS
Territorial Force—
Major I. E. Stock, M.B.E., E.D., 3rd Company R.N.Z.A.S.C.,
relinquishes the appointment of O.C., 3rd Company, R.N.Z.A.S.C.,
and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, The
Royal N.Z. Army Service Corps, with the rank of Major, with
seniority from 9th December, 1945. Dated 31st July, 1950.
Captain D. R. Orange, from the Reserve of Officers, Regimental
List, The Royal N.Z. Army Service Corps to be Lieutenant, with
seniority from 6th April, 1945, and is posted to the 3rd Company,
R.N.Z.A.S.C. Dated 23rd May, 1950.
Lieutenant W. H. Hall, from the Reserve of Officers, Regimental
List, The Royal N.Z. Army Service Corps, to be Lieutenant,
with seniority from 1st January, 1946, and is posted to the 3rd

Temp. Captain and Quartermaster C. M. Cole, 1st Field
Ambulance, R.N.Z.A.M.C., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers,
General List, The Royal N.Z. Army Medical Corps, with the rank of
Captain and Quartermaster, with seniority from 4th March, 1943.

Lieutenant F. L. Clark, M.B., Ch.B., is transferred to the Reserve
of Officers, General List, The Royal N.Z. Army Medical Corps,
with the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 10th October,
1939. Dated 28th August, 1950.
Temp. 2nd Lieutenant S. H. Beresford,-1st Field Ambulance,
R.N.Z.A.M.C. (non-medical), is transferred to the Reserve of

Sydney Lawrence Emil Weggery to be Chaplain, 4th Class,

N.Z. ARMY NURSING SERVICE
Regular Force—
Sister D. M. Delaney, from the Territorial Force, is granted a
short-service commission for a period of one year as from lst
September, 1950, in the rank of Sister, with seniority from 1st April,
1950, and is posted for duty to Papakura Camp Hospital. Dated
1st September, 1950.
SPECIAL LIST, TERRITORIAL FORCE
Temp. Major-General Sir Howard K. Kippenberger, K.B.E.,
C.B., D.S.O., E.D., is posted to the Retired List with the rank of
