Whatawhaata Tribal Committee Area

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the Junction of Ponds Road with the Kauroa–Te Mata Main Highway, being a point on the boundary of the Tainui Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described; then proceeding northerly along the boundary of that area to a point due west of the middle of the mouth of the Waitetuna River, being a point on the boundary of the Waingaro Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described, then easterly generally along the boundary of that area to and along the boundary of the Tangirau Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described, to the production of a right line between Trig. Station 48 in Block IV, Alexandra Survey District, and Trig. Station 930 in Block XVI, Newcastle Survey District; then southerly to and along the said right line to Trig. Station 48 aforesaid, and along a right line passing through Trig. Station 518 in Block VIII, Alexandra Survey District, to a right line between the southernmost corner of Section 112, Te Rapa Parish, and the southernmost corner of Section 204, Tuhikaramea Parish; then westerly along the last-mentioned right line to the southernmost corner of Section 204 aforesaid; then south-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station Tahuanui in Block II, Pirongia Survey District; then north-westerly along a right line to the south-western corner of Moerangi 1c Block in Block XIII, Alexandra Survey District, and a right line to the junction of Ponds Road and the Kauroa–Te Mata Main Highway, the point of commencement.

Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945, I, Ernest Bowyer Corbett, Minister of Maori Affairs, do hereby declare the parts of the tribal district described in the Schedule hereto to be tribal committee areas for the purposes of the said Act, and do hereby assign to each of the several areas the name appearing at the head of the description of each such area.


SCHEDULE

KAOKAOROA TRIBAL DISTRICT

Rengarenga-Ukaipo Tribal Committee Area

ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Piarere-Kaimai Main Highway at its intersection with a right line between a point in the middle of the Mangapapa River on the production of the south-western boundary of Lot 2, on plan numbered 25216, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, and Trig. Station M (Rangitanuku) in Block XI, Tapapa Survey District; then easterly and north-easterly along the middle of that highway to and along the middle of the Matamata-Tauranga Main Highway to its intersection with a right line between Trig. Station 146 (Te Weraiti), being the western corner of Block IV, Opoutihi Survey District, and Trig. Station 27 (Puwhenua), being the eastern corner of Block VII, Tapapa East Survey District; then south-easterly along the last-mentioned right line to Trig. Station 27 aforesaid; then westerly along a right line to Trig. Station O (Hauturu) in Block IV, Tapapa East Survey District; then south-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station T1 in Block XVI, Tapapa Survey District; then north-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station M (Rangitanuku) in Block XI, Tapapa Survey District, and a right line to the point of commencement.

Manawanui Tribal Committee Area

All that area bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station 27 (Puwhenua) at the eastern corner of Block VII, Tapapa East Survey District; then proceeding southerly along a right line in the direction of the westernmost corner of Section 9, Block V, Horohoro Survey District, to its intersection with the production of a right line between Trig. Station No. 816 (Whakaaratamaiti) in Block VII, Patetere North Survey District, and the south-western corner of Section 4, Block IX, Rotorua Survey District; then easterly to and along the last-mentioned right line to Trig. Station No. 816

aforesaid; then north-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station No. 812 (Mangapouri) in Block III, Patetere North Survey District; then north-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station T1 in Block XVI, Tapapa Survey District, and a right line to Trig. Station O (Hauturu) in Block IV, Tapapa East Survey District; then easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 27 (Puwhenua), the point of commencement.

Okoroire Tribal Committee Area

All that area bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station H (Hinuera) in Block XII, Cambridge Survey District; then proceeding northerly along a right line to a point in the middle of the Mangapapa River on the production of the south-western boundary of Lot 2, on plan numbered 25216, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; then south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station M (Rangitanuku) in Block XI, Tapapa Survey District, and a right line to Trig. Station T1 in Block XVI, Tapapa Survey District; then south-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station 812 (Mangapouri) in Block III, Patetere North Survey District; then north-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station H, the point of commencement.

Tirau Tribal Committee Area

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the southern-most corner of Section 3, Block VI, Cambridge Survey District, being a point on the north-western boundary of the Matamata County as described in New Zealand Gazette of 1950 at page 275; then proceeding north-easterly generally along that county boundary to the middle of the Mangapapa River; then southerly along a right line to Trig. Station H (Hinuera) in Block XII, Cambridge Survey District; then south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station No. 812 (Mangapouri) in Block III, Patetere North Survey District, and along a right line to Trig. Station No. 816 (Whakaaratamaiti) in Block VII, Patetere North Survey District; then north-westerly along a right line to the south-western corner of Section 47, Block IV, Maungatautari Survey District, and its production to the middle of the Waikato River; then down the middle of that river to its intersection with a right line between Trig. Station No. 52 (Pukekura) in Block XIV, Cambridge Survey District, and Trig. Station Y (Opuahau) in Block X, Cambridge Survey District; then north-easterly along the said right line to Trig. Station Y aforesaid; then north-westerly along a right line to the southernmost corner of Section 3, Block VI, Cambridge Survey District, the point of commencement.

Varying a Notice Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act, 1945, I, Ernest Bowyer Corbett, Minister of Maori Affairs, do hereby vary the notice dated the 10th day of July, 1947, and published in the Gazette on the 17th day of July, 1947, at page 887, declaring parts of the Raukawa Tribal District to be tribal committee areas for the purposes of the said Act, by excluding therefrom the description of the Pikiahu-Waewae Tribal Committee Area appearing in the Schedule thereto and substituting therefor the descriptions appearing in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE

RANGATAHI TRIBAL COMMITTEE AREA

ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Rangitikei River in line with the southern boundary of Section 99, Township of Sandon in Block XII, Rangitoto Survey District; then to and along that boundary to a public road; then along the western side of that road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 144, Mingaroa Maori Reserve; then to and along that boundary and the northern boundary of Sections 101, 111, and 112, Township of Sandon, to the Mangaone Stream; then to and along the middle of the Mangaone Stream to the southern boundary of Section 112, Township of Sandon in Block IX, Oroua Survey District; then easterly along that southern boundary to the south-eastern corner of Section 112 aforesaid; then north-easterly along a right line in the direction of the southern corner of Section 156, Township of Sandon in Block VII, Oroua Survey District, to its intersection with Reid’s Line; then north-westerly along a right line to the northern corner of Lot 8 on the plan numbered 2584, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; then westerly along a right line to the south-western corner of Reureu No. 2b 3a Block in Block VIII, Rangitoto Survey District, and along the production of the southern boundary of the said block to the middle of the Rangitikei River; then southerly down the middle of the said river to the point of commencement.

PIKIAHU-WAEWAE TRIBAL COMMITTEE AREA

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the northern corner of Lot 8 on the plan numbered 2584, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; then proceeding south-easterly along a right line to the intersection of Reid’s Line with a right line between the south-eastern corner of Section 112, Township of Sandon in Block IX, Oroua Survey District, and the southern corner of Section 156, Township of Sandon in Block VII, Oroua Survey District; then north-easterly along the last-mentioned right line to the southern corner of Section 156 aforesaid, along a right line to Trig. Station B (Marshall) in Block II, Apiti Survey District, and along a right line to Trig. Station Burnt Knob
